Senior Project Manager - Data Protection

The EDT Data Protection team is part of SAP’s overall commitment to meeting DPP compliance needs. A major responsibility of our team is the enablement of business and IT teams in setting up and enforcing DPP compliant data destruction of personal information in their business processes. These often span across multiple technical solutions, delivered on-premise and in the cloud. 
Responsibilities include the following:

  • managing implementation projects for setting up and enforcing DPP compliant data destruction processes;
  • creating implementation roadmaps and working as a product-owner to define sprint goals for our scrum team;
  • proposing and implementing process and governance improvements to address DPP topics;
  • owning and improving our implementation methodology as a project blueprint for implementing data destruction projects ;


Your profile:

  • proven project management skills and strong track record of successfully completing customer projects with international teams;
  • sound understanding of business processes and how they get modelled in IT systems;
  • good knowledge of IT delivery processes
  • experience in working closely with Senior Management/Executive Level 
  • service mentality
  • advocate for DPP compliance topics
  • strong communication skills
  • high level of initiative, willingness to assume responsibility 
  • team player
  • fluent English language skills are mandatory, German language skills advantageous
  • advantage: good knowledge of SAP on-premise technology (in particular ABAP and customizing) as well as cloud stack, ideally experience in implementing SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM and Cloud ILM)

About the Team:
 As part of SAP’s IT Services organization, Enterprise Data Technology (EDT) is responsible for providing consultancy & technology expertise in all areas of data management.
The Data Protection team in EDT focuses on providing project management skills, technical knowledge, and services to contribute to SAP’s DPP compliant handling of personal data. 
Data Protection is a growth area in IT comprising a wide range of interesting and challenging topics. One of our focus areas is the enablement of business and IT units to implement DPP compliant destruction processes for personal identifiable information (PII).
