This internship can be remote, local to Herndon, VA, or local to Newtown Square, PA.
Job Summary:
SAP NS2 is seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Intern to support the Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC). This internship is designed for college students pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in enterprise security operations. The intern will work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals and gain exposure to real-world threat detection, incident response, , and security monitoring in a high-assurance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monitoring and analyzing security alerts and events using SIEM and other cybersecurity monitoring tools under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Support Tier 1 analysts in the identification, triage, and documentation of potential security incidents and suspicious activity.
- Participate in incident response activities, including evidence collection, basic analysis, and post-incident documentation.
- Help document security incidents, procedures, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the CSOC.
- Conduct Research on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies, and present findings to the team.
- Assit with maintaining and updating incident response procedures, standard operations procedures (SOPS), and playbooks
- Collaborate with CSOC team members on day-to-day operational tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as threat analysis, vulnerability management, and network security.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM platforms, firewalls, or antivirus software (Splunk experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, and basic scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell is a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Excellent writing skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 15 - 62(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
