About SAP Labs Network and SAP Labs Vietnam

SAP Labs Network is the global R&D setup where over 55,000 engineers around the world create, operate and support the most innovative enterprise solutions for SAP’s customers worldwide. SAP Labs Vietnam aims to become one of the key locations within the SAP Labs Network to support the engineering growth for SAP.

 

What you'll do

 

Reporting into the MD for the Labs, this is a role for a senior program manager with expertise in establishing a new location and setup in the technology space. 

 

Key responsibilities will include coordinating with the Labs team to ensure compliance to project budget, building up the use cases for investment and tracking the use of project budget in line with the approved funds as well as closely coordinating with the global controlling team and local finance teams. 

 

On a periodic basis, the person will be responsible for preparing the report card for the location and tracking the progress of the ramp up including risks, mitigation and provide inputs on how best to steer the execution of the team.


As a trusted advisor, the person should have a strong project finance background, and be familiar with local regulations, incentives and tax laws pertaining to the technology sector in Vietnam. 

 

As a hands on person, this individual will also support the other activities in Labs Vietnam, especially around employee engagement.

 

What you bring

 

  • Assist the SAP Labs MD and the SAP Labs Network Team to manage the full ramp up of the Labs as a fully functional part of SAP’s development setup, with clear project planning, timelines and financial control
  • Setup, prepare for relevant management leadership team meetings with key stakeholders
  • Provide monthly reports to senior management in SAP on progress, with the highest standards of quality and accuracy
  • Manage the risk register for Labs Vietnam, and ensure critical risks are timely raised and mitigation plans are crafted and maintained
  • Support the audit process as required by SAP’s legal and financial teams
  • Competent knowledge about the local financial regulatory environment, trusted advisor to the MD and global teams on how to navigate complex topics around the regulatory environment
  • Maintains the highest standards on work ethics and compliance to SAP’s employee code of conduct
  • Ambassador for SAP in the local market

 

Experience Requirements

  • Proven Program Management/Finance role in and experience in establishing operational excellence in a tech company, preferably in a top tier Tech multinational is key to success in this role
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex finance and operational topics in a matrixed global organisation
  • Program management and business skills with in managing key projects around office and team requirements with tight deadlines
  • Ability to managing key topics around office and team requirements – and expectations for individuals on the ground
  • Strong employee focus and demonstrated acumen to cultivate and develop lasting employee relations
  • Demonstrated several years’ experience with increasing amount of responsibility
  • Driven, creative and enthusiastic individual committed to growing the location and making the office a “lighthouse” for employees

  • Communicates clear and conveying processes & policies in a way that others can understand
  • Communicates relevant messages in a timely manner and with constructive feedback to cross functional colleagues & managers
  • Able to resolve conflict and progress key initiatives

 

Experience & Language Requirements

  • Fluent bi-lingual in Vietnamese and English is a must (spoken and written)
  • 10+  years of experience in finance, controlling and program management
  • Legal knowledge and familiarity with the local laws is a definite plus
  • Excellent presentation skills, able to represent the topics to an international group of stakeholders
  • German language is a plus
  • Shortlisted candidates will be asked to make a formal in person presentation in English to a panel for 15 mins to assess fit and suitability to the role.

 

Education

  • Advanced University degree is a must, Masters or PhD preferred
