Within the Global Demand Center, the role of the Paid Media Acquisition Channels Team (Integrated Media Team) is to develop strategically sound and performance-based media plans for solution areas.  These paid media “blueprint” plans are developed with input from the Integrated Demand Team who will set business goals, messaging, and KPIs for paid media within the end-to-end customer journey. The Acquisition Channels team collaborates with the IDT, other specialty channels teams (Social, Web, Organic Search), and with regional hubs to execute and optimize the paid media contribution to generating demand across the customer journey 


The Acquisition Channels Team (IMT) is also responsible for driving improvement and digital media best practices in SAP marketing.  In this capacity there will be collaboration with the martech / adtech teams (IT) analytics teams (PMI) , and data teams (ID&A) 



The Acquisition Channel Paid Media Senior Specialist is responsible for developing a paid media blueprint for a solution area that meets the goals as cascaded by IDT.  Success for this role will be determined by effectiveness of the media plans, agency management for optimization and successful adaptation of the media blueprint by the regional hubs for execution and optimization   


The Acquisition Channel Paid Media Senior Specialist (IMT) role can be described in these main areas 


  • Solution Area Responsibilities 
    • Define the paid media blueprint (“global media plan”) for a solution area that will drive the desired business outcomes as defined by CMSO and IDT 
    • Manage overall media agency AOR and delivery of the brief / plan  

    • Cascade the blueprint to the appropriate regional hubs for execution 

    • Partner with / mentor Regional Hub Media Specialists for agency engagement / plan execution 

    • Ensure paid media performance data (including paid search performance) is accurately and appropriately reflected by the Analytic Shared Services Team in the overall end-to-end performance reporting 

    • Drive paid search strategy integration into solution area media plans  

    • Integrates Awareness media strategy / activity into solution area media performance reports  

    • Meet on a regular cadence with Regional Hub Media Specialists to review strategic alignments, performance, and optimizations 

    • Paid media budget management for solution area 


  •  Paid Media Practice 

    • Ensure SAP digital media is current or ahead of industry / technology changes including audience targeting without 3p cookies, Universal ID, paid media measurement  

    • Drive paid media best practices such as ABM, DCO, GDPR compliance across media vendors 

    • Oversee testing of paid media  

    • Improve programmatic media performance through custom viewability, transparency and active vendor platform management 

    • Evolve paid media performance measurement within E2E customer journey measurement with the PM&I, Shared Services Analytics and Optimization teams 



  • Develop comprehensive paid media blueprint plans for a solution area based on strategic input from IDT and CMSO teams.   

  • Collaborate with various internal and external teams including other GDC teams and IDT teams to implement paid media strategy and provide Regional Hubs support for adaptation and execution of the media plans through the media agency AOR 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the evaluation of paid media performance to optimize paid media performance for business impact. This includes ensuring the Program Lead has paid media (paid search) performance data from all the regions to enable the IDT Program Lead to provide a comprehensive view of overall program performance 

  • Ensure adherence to strategic foundations established and understand required optimizations to maximize business contribution 

  • Manage the media agency AOR and ensure proper engagement with the agency for planning, execution and optimization 


  • 6+ years B2B or B2C digital high-tech marketing experience 

  • 3+ years of Ad Agency experience preferred and / or 5+ years of agency management 

  • Digital native preferred 

  • Must have working knowledge of multiple digital paid media channels and their applicability across the customer journey and various objectives (awareness, consideration, demand generation) 

  • Must understand and advocate for the role of paid media across all other program channels:  Organic, Web, Events, Sponsorships, etc. 

  • Must understand Martech / Adtech capabilities and restraints as they impact paid media targeting, retargeting, measurement and vendor performance. 

  • Strong collaboration skills and ease working across a matrixed organization 

  • Strong analytical and data skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
