Solution Advisor is responsible for impactful presentations and product demonstrations pre-sales and/or post-sales; delivers, helps develop, and maintains standard product demonstrations and materials to secure business and increase revenue. Understands business and industry; helps customers realize return on investment and drives knowledge into the sales force.
Accountability
- Manages presales opportunities, defines deliverables, and provides definitive advice and interpretation of situations.
- Ensures business-critical and innovative results.
- Ensures that goals and milestones are met and approved budgets are managed appropriately.
- Manages escalations appropriately.
- Builds strategic partnerships with key decision makers in customer and partner organizations.
- May include team lead or supervisory responsibilities.
Complexity
- Manages presales activities of high volume or high risk/complexity.
- Shares in-depth knowledge and experience with the direct team to enable decision-making.
- Provides innovative solutions to complex business issues.
- Provides regular status and updates.
- Ability to present the whole SAP Finance and Controlling portfolio (FI, CO, RE-FX, TRM, Financial Closing, Budgeting/Planning, Profitability Analysis/CO-PA).
- Ability to deep dive on certain topics such as Treasury and Cash Management (TRM) or Product Costing (CO-PC).
Experience
- Strong functional knowledge in Finance and Controlling, with hands-on expertise across FI, CO and related sub-domains (e.g., RE-FX, TRM, Financial Closing, Budgeting/Planning, CO-PA).
- Successful project implementations in Finance or Controlling (as key user or implementation consultant).
- SAP consulting background required; demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into SAP solution value.
- Certification on SAP solutions in Finance or Controlling preferred.
- Expertise in one or several sub-domains in Finance or Controlling such as Treasury and Cash Management, Product Costing, Real Estate (RE-FX), or Financial Closing.
Communication
- Represents SAP to customers (one-to-many audiences) with strong executive presence; presentable and confident in front of customers.
- Finds common ground for cooperation within the team.
- Formulates clear messages to promote SAP strategy and portfolio.
- Captures opinions and expectations of stakeholders and communicates them to the team.
- Excellent storytelling and demo delivery skills tailored to different stakeholder profiles.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage customers early in the sales cycle, matching needs to SAP solutions, and advising account teams on opportunities based on success probabilities and strategic account positions.
- Develop and deliver compelling stories and demonstrations that illustrate differentiated business outcomes, utilizing standard messaging and digital assets throughout the customer journey.
