The Project Consultant has primary responsibility to support a project/programme manager deliver SAP Consulting Projects across a wide range of customer industries and line of business cloud product sets. The Project Consultant is responsible for supporting projects and programmes, delivering engagements, and supporting the Delivery Management team either in the role of PMO or managing engagements. Directing project delivery resources to deliver SAP Engagements in line with the scope and deliverables defined in the Contractual Order Form. They will be responsible for day to day planning of project tasks, resource scheduling, reporting project progress and raising change notes either to support a project/programme manager or whilst managing smaller engagements. The main measure of success will be customer satisfaction and achievement of financial targets whilst containing risk exposure within their engagements.

 

EXPECTATIONS

 

  • Support the project services deal and contract management process.
  • Managing multiple small cloud engagements to ensure customer success
  • Completion of internal Monthly Project Reporting process
  • Support in investigating customer invoicing issues
  • Creation of Templates for use within a specific project or across all SAP projects
  • Central control of documents, e.g. management within Solution Manager and/or Collaboration Rooms
  • Assist with defining processes to be followed on projects, including quality review processes
  • Assist with identification and introduction of process improvements
  • Assist with creating and updating project plans
  • Assist with creating resource plans and staff assignment
  • Monitoring completion of tasks and chasing for progress updates
  • Assisting with Risk & Issue Management
  • Assisting with Scope Control and raising Contracts Changes
  • Arranging meetings/calls within team and with customer
  • Managing distribution and summary of reports to senior management

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

  • 1-2+ years of experience preferably with an SI or software vendor
  • Proactive with strong organisation skills, able to organise project activities for themselves and on behalf of the Project Manager and other team members.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail, able to quickly identify discrepancies and to proactively investigate and resolve issues.
  • Willingness to work in a virtual team
  • Capacity to lead and manage small projects through to completion as well as supporting larger programmes of work
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively liaise with clients and partners at all levels
  • Knowledge of a line of business e.g. HxM, ISM Cx an advantage
  • Structured methodology for delivery and Agile project delivery experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel
