The newly created Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations business unit is part of SAP Product Engineering with responsibility across the relevant Sovereign Cloud portfolio of SAP. Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations is collaborating closely with all Board areas to establish a harmonized, scalable, and consistent offering with transparent and standardized deliverables. 

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

We are looking for a HANA DBA who will manage the HANA database daily operations of our SAP ecosystem. The professional will manage the client relationships and work across the Service Delivery Lifecycle to analyse, design, build, test, implement and/or maintain multiple system components or applications. The individual must have strong technical knowledge of SAP systems and databases. Additional responsibilities include managing periodic maintenance activities, refreshes, patching, and upgrades.

You must have the desire and ability to work independently on complex issues, as well as collaborate efficiently with experts to anticipate issues that impact customer success.

The role includes the following tasks:

• Support a Production Cloud environment built on SAP HANA
• Debug End to End issues that occur within production Hana environments
• Performance tuning of Hana DB for use with SAP HCM applications
• Implement and monitor replication technologies related to HANA including SAP Replication Server, SDI, and DS
• Perform database backup and restores, point in time recoveries.
• Close cooperation with development: set up systems and scenarios enabling development to provide fixes in the shortest possible time period
• Analyse performance and scalability of the SAP HANA database providing input for architectural enhancements
• Support multiple 24/7/365 customer facing Hana database environments
• Must be able to provide rotating on call support and after-hours support for system maintenance.
• Close collaboration with Services and Delivery teams to analyse issues between the app and database
• set-up database monitoring solutions and reporting functions for interaction with operations
• Design and deliver operational processes for monitoring and troubleshooting Hana database
• Willingness to Support On-call rotation schedule

What you will bring

• Must be a UK resident for at least 5 years and willing to undergo a security clearance process to SC level.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline
• 7+ years of technical experience in database architecture (preferably Hana related)
• 3+ years practical experience with SAP Hana in a quality, test, or development environment
• Experienced professional in database performance tuning focusing on HANA, and MSSQL to a lesser degree
• Experience with data replication technologies including SAP Replication Server, Smart Data Integration, and Data Services.
• Experience with other database technologies including Microsoft MSSQL, and MySQL beneficial
• Experience with Amazon AWS GovCloud, Azure, GCP
