Role overview

 

As a Marketing Manager at SAP, you will be expected to drive demand generation, awareness, thought leadership and relationship building across a mix of marketing channels, with a specialism in Services (Telco, Financial, Professional, etc) Industry marketing.  In your role you will support the UKI Marketing team, reporting into the Head of Integrated Marketing in the UKI.

This is a fixed term full-time role, and we anticipate 40 hours per week.

 

In this role, you will lead the local market unit Marketing strategy and execution of the SAP Services industry portfolio  to generate demand and accelerate pipeline. This means to lead effective planning and set up appropriate tactical approach; understand and influence your audience, build community; lead the execution of marketing activities, programs and campaigns including the relevant use of account-based marketing, data-driven marketing, digital marketing, physical and virtual events – both SAP led as well as 3rd party, etc.; enable sales by providing highest impact of traditional, on-line, and social / community marketing activities. You will be the voice of the market unit to industry regional and global in order to get what the field need to be successful.  You will also hold the primary engagement to all stakeholders including sales, pre sales, value engineers, etc.

 

Operational responsibilities

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Strategy Execution – Have a thorough understanding of how to translate business strategy and objectives into effective marketing execution plans covering the full customer journey. Be fully trained and responsible to ensure brand, quality, consistency, and compliance and promote these aspects within all related demand generation activities. Ensure that the end-to-end marketing plan is aligned with Business requirements; continuously communicate with sales stakeholders, monitor and adjust demand generation and pipeline acceleration plans to support the business.
  • Field Enablement – Consistently align with business stakeholders. Understand the role of stakeholder management in the development of effective marketing activities, thus influencing internal stakeholders and making relevant decisions for all related marketing tactics and assets to optimize impact in the market. Constantly monitor use in order to optimise support and enablement, including but not limited to re-formatting, adaptation of rollout plans, fine-tuning of target audiences, integration of new communication channels or routes, etc.
  • Market Research/Analysis – Build and continue to evolve your knowledge and understanding of the target audience and SAP’s solutions and go-to-market approach, to identify relevant data segmentation, adapt messages, and optimise the campaign tactics. In addition, proactively identify opportunities for future engagement and recognize additional needs for research and analysis, collaborating closely with respective marketing and business stakeholders.
  • Data Management – Focus on excellent execution and speed to market when documenting campaign execution and lead management activities in the systems of record, including CRM, reports, dashboards and scorecards. Skillfully leverage respective systems to analyse performance.
  • Lead Management – Understand the goals, objectives and processes involved in successful lead management. Collaborate with key sales and business stakeholders to increase impact of marketing. Proactively propose and push for relevant actions in order to improve lead quality, secure higher acceptance rates, and optimize related campaign processes for improved future execution.
  • Asset Management – Oversee the planning, development and use of content such as videos, blogs, infographics, web sites, white papers, etc. May also manage the end-to-end asset or campaign production for innovative or strategic priority campaigns.
  • Agency Management – Identify, engage, and contract suitable (internal/external) agencies to manage respective projects, including related budget and cost. Identify and recommend preferred agencies and initiate vendor agreements to optimize investments beyond own campaign activities.
  • Customer Service and Relationship Management – Maintain a high level of customer focus and knowledge of industry and market trends in order to create a valuable customer experience. Proactively look for opportunities to service customer inquiries, resolve problems, etc. by understanding internal and external customers. Share knowledge to empower peers.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 8-10 years of B2B or B2C digital, high-tech marketing experience, including experience in Industry marketing (Services experience preferable)
  • Strong communication skills, including strong written English skills
  • Ability to think and work strategically
  • Marketing campaign management experience; managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Desire to learn multiple tools and solutions
  • Energy, passion and a real “can-do” attitude
