Summary

In the Automotive Industries, the four main trends (connected, autonomous, shared, and electrified) drive the demand for new mobility solutions that support fast-changing mobility business models, such as subscription mobility, for maximum profitability and competitiveness. An open and flexible mobility platform and state-of-art architecture are critical for mobility service providers and their ecosystem.

 

SAP E-Mobility is a new Cloud solution part of SAP Automotive to operate charging stations in the context of a highly dynamic Electric Mobility market.

The electrification of the mobility leverage new challenges in research areas like mathematic optimization or forecasting of a given electrical grid modelisation component at large.

 

Key research areas: electrical grid usage optimization, maintenance and usage forecasting.

 

Context

The ongoing electrification of mobility comes with the challenge of charging electric vehicles (EVs) sufficiently while electrical grid is physically limited.

 

Modelling mathematically an electric grid to find its optiminum usage at a given time is the key to ensure the mobility electrification will not overload it.

 

Forecasting mathematical models will help to produce a consistent way of planfiying electrical infrastructure evolution.

 

Objectives

Evaluate and create electrical grid mathematic models matching real world grid components

Optimum grid model usage solving methods creation or evaluation with time and space algorithmic consideration

Evaluation of well-known statistics and probabilist approach as well the usage of machine learning cocomittent the latest research in these areas

 

You will be part of the e-Mobility team located in SAP Labs France (Sophia-Antipolis or Caen).

 

We are looking for 

A highly motivated candidate holding a Master’s Degree in engineering, electric, applied mathematics, computer science or related fields. The successful candidate has strong analytical skills, is proactive, self-driven with strong problem-solving abilities and out-of-the-box thinking. Moreover, programming experience, preferably in Java and Typescript, is expected. Experience in predictive maintenance mathematic models, machine and deep learning is beneficial. Professional command of English (both written and spoken) is mandatory and knowledge in German is beneficial. You enjoy working in an interactive international environment with other doctoral students and post-docs, referring continuously to practical problems and solutions and collaborating with industrial project partners.

 

Requirements

The successful candidate will be integrated within our E-Mobility team and will be a first-class actor of our research activity. Besides actively participating to the Mission and Goals of SAP E-Mobility Research Team and ensuring our successful participation to these projects, writing publications and filling patents will be strongly encouraged.

Creative and analytical mind

Willing to work with cutting edge technologies French/German will be a plus.

Possibility to travel (mainly in Europe).
