About SAP Customer Experience

SAP Customer Experience helps build trusted relationships between brands and their customers to unlock a new world of digital innovation, customer value, and sustainable growth.  SAP Customer Experience brings together the portfolios and teams from the Hybris, CallidusCloud, Gigya and Coresystems acquisitions to form SAP C4/HANA, our integrated technology suite.  We have a bold mission ahead and have complete support across SAP to revolutionize the front office and bring it together with our back-office through S/4HANA. Across SAP Customer Experience, being bold and winning is paramount to our culture and our people thrive in high performing teams. We seek talent who want to innovate, be disruptive, and who support mutually agreed upon goals and ambitions. As a fast-paced growth business, there are no limits to how our teams will shape the future of SAP and our industry.

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

We are seeking a passionate hands-on development architect to add to our Context-Driven Services team (part of SAP Commerce Cloud) to support the design and implementation of our next-generation, microservices-based, data-driven customer experience solution.

The successful candidate must come with a strong track record of designing cloud-native solutions and understand the challenges of big data and large-scale applications. We want to see vision, team spirit, pragmatism and empathy.

As development architect you will touch the entire lifecycle of software development starting with the analysis of the business requirements followed by the delivery and maintenance of cloud-native solutions. As part of our development teams, you will have abundant opportunities to demonstrate your abilities and learn new skills.

Within our team, we practice a trust-based working model. If you need to work flexibly from another location or at another time you can do so given your manager’s agreement.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

You will be the development architect in one of our agile development teams, a role which involves the full software development lifecycle of a big-data, cloud-native solution for data collection, processing & analysis:

  • Own and maintain the non-functional-requirements backlog of your team, write and review technical documents, analyze and provide feedback to product requirements;
  • Define, document, and communicate architecture and coding guidelines and make sure they are correctly followed;
  • Actively gather information on new developments and emerging technologies and plan for new technology insertion;
  • Take operational responsibility together with the development team for the provided solutions (deployment, monitoring, telemetry, maintenance, incident handling) - "you build it, you run it";
  • Work in close collaboration with the other architects to understand the bigger picture and to create a harmonized solution architecture.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

  • Degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent
  • Solid and recent experience in microservices using JVM-based languages
  • Experience in designing and operating big-data cloud-native applications, including exposure technologies like Docker & Kubernetes

  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Cloud Foundry, Hystrix, Istio, RabbitMQ, Cassandra
  • Technical Knowledge about SAP Hybris Commerce would be a plus

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 7 years working experience in professional software development/engineering
  • Minimum 3 years working experience as a development architect
