We are looking for a Global Head of the Total Rewards People Success Services Design team (f/m/d) ! The leader of this position is responsible for the strategic design and execution of executive and non-executive compensation, company-wide compensation budgeting, equity programs, base pay structures, M&A integration, as well as overall compensation frameworks including Fair Pay practices. In close collaboration with broader Total Rewards team and the HR organization, our solutions drive employee engagement, optimize the total reward packages and support the achievement of strategic objectives and sustainable business results.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and mentor the Total Rewards design team, consisting of both experts and young professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee design and implementation of competitive compensation strategies that align with the company's goals and market practices.
  • Lead the annual compensation budgeting process, collaborating with finance and other key stakeholders to allocate resources effectively and in line with market data.
  • Ensure compensation practices comply with regulatory requirements and governance standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and regular benchmarking analyses to ensure compensation programs remain competitive and aligned with industry standards.
  • Effectively communicate compensation plans to executives and key stakeholders, providing clarity and transparency.
  • Oversee design and legal compliance related to equity-based compensation plans, including stock options, restricted stock units (RSUs), and performance shares.
  • Oversee comprehensive compensation due diligence during M&A activities, assessing risks and opportunities, as well as integration plans for programs alignment post-M&A.
  • Oversee monitoring of Fair Pay practices, promoting pay equity and transparency across the organization.
  • Engage with various stakeholders such as Executive Board, Supervisory Board Representatives, leaders in HR, Finance, Legal, and other departments to ensure cohesive and integrated compensation strategies.
  • Support the continuous development of team members through training, coaching, and performance feedback.

 

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in Total Rewards or Compensation management, particularly in design processes.
  • Strong understanding of executive & non-executive compensation, equity programs, and global compensation frameworks.
  • Experience in building strong relationships with C-suite executives. Expertise in compensation benchmarking, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills. Leadership experience with the ability to develop and inspire a high-performing team.

 

Education and Qualifications:

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field;
  • Relevant certification is a plus.

Compensation Range Transparency

SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 254,400 - 572,000 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
