What you’ll do:

 

Position title: SAP iXp Intern - Data Engineering

 

Location: Hybrid - Newport Beach

 

Expected start date: November 2024- October 2025

 

Duration: 6- 12 months

 

Working hours: Part-time - Full-time ( 20 - 40 hrs./week)

 

  • Project - Develop data products as part of SAP’s data strategy to expose advanced analytics for current and future consumers/products of new data unit in SAP, creating an SAP Data Mesh.
    • As part of a team working on building data products, your job responsibilities will include but not limited to - development in Java/Scala or Python, develop APIs, writing unit and integration tests, database query optimizations, learning BigData technologies (Spark, streaming, databricks etc.) and working with team in person in office to create design artifacts such as architecture/deployment diagrams, test workflows and in general collaboration to achieve the sprint goals.

  • Educational requirements – degree in computer science or currently enrolled in CS
  • Position requirements – Data engineering related work such as development of data pipelines, debugging and validating/testing data products, APIs etc.
  • Desired skills / experience to be successful in this role –
    • Solid understanding of Databases
    • Good knowledge of data pipelines, high volume data architectures
    • Basic knowledge on BigData technologies such as Spark, Databricks etc.
  • Qualifications for the role (please indicate if qualification is desired or necessary) – Proactive and Positive attitude with passion to learn.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 15-62 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
