Job Title: Business Processes Principal Consultant

Location: Newtown Square, PA


Purpose and Objective: 

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Business Processes Principal Consultant at our Newtown Square, PA location prepare, conceptualize, realize, and participate in Go Live of the customer implementation projects.


Expectations and Tasks:

Support pre-sales activities, both license and services. Support the internal TM Consulting Practice with pre-sales support, spot consulting and internal projects and commit to the success of customers, partners, colleagues, and SAP. Create discovery documentation, conduct fit-gap analyses, create test cases, schedule and execute testing, and conduct key user training. Perform feasibility studies and process design reviews. Act as team lead and support respective line manager(s) in people development tasks. Act as coach and/or mentor to consulting colleagues. Develop detailed plan of process implementation. Define detailed blueprint for development requirements. Lead industry and corporate process implementation across all related applications (SAP/non-SAP). Develop and assure quality of process models. Demonstrate profound knowledge of modelling standards and tools. Assist in the development of the overall project plan (scoping process) as well as individual work plans. Act as liaison with client for troubleshooting (investigates, analyses, and solves software problems). Analyze and map clients’ business requirements, processes and objectives, develop necessary product modifications to satisfy clients’ needs. Support the internal TM Consulting Practice with pre-sales support, spot consulting and internal projects and commit to the success of customers, partners, colleagues, and SAP.


Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field and 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The company will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.


Work Experience:

Position requires experience involving each of the following:

  • Full cycle SAP Transportation Management implementations, including hands-on configuration and use of AGILE project methodology, to bring module to a productive state;
  • Embedded and decentralized SAP Transportation Management for Shippers and LSP business process and industry specific transportation processes;
  • Freight Order Management, Planning, Charge Calculation and Settlement for SAP Transportation Management;
  • Integrate SAP Transportation Management with SAP EWM, SAP ECC, SAP S4 and SAP LBN, and integrate SAP Transportation Management to third party solutions;
  • Implement SAP LBN Freight Collaboration and SAP LBN Global Track and Trace; and
  • Support presales cycles for SAP Transportation Management consulting services as a subject matter expert and provide SAP TM Premium Engagement services to customers.


Travel: Position requires up to 50% domestic travel to various and unanticipated customer sites. Telecommuting permitted. Position can be based in any U.S. location.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $125,133 to $198,560. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $146,000 to $248, 200. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
