Job Title: Development Architect 

Location: Newtown Square, PA

Purpose and Objective:   

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Development Architect at our Newtown Square, PA location responsible for a system's relationship to other systems, and for a system's non-functional properties. 

 

Expectations and Tasks:  

In charge of the component and dependency structure of a system or sub-system. Analyse and discuss specifications and their mutual relationship in the light of strategic direction. Define, document and align architecture to reconcile specifications and strategy with external boundary conditions (e.g. product standards, production constraints). Govern design and implementation activities to assure compliance to architectural constraints, patterns and anti-patterns. Manage projects, resources, or expertise ensuring business critical & innovative results. Build strategic partnerships with customers/partners. Responsible for Projects of high risks/complexity. Represent SAP to customers/partners and finds common ground for functional/team/project cooperation. Assume accountability and responsibility for related actions, products, services & processes and influences business outcomes by representing their function (internally & externally). Act as an expert in respective field, ambassador, best practice creator and knowledge broker. Stay updated of trends in respective field and contribute to business strategy by driving innovation in respective topics.  

 

Education and Occupational Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 

 

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:  

Experience must include five (5) years involving each of the following:  

  • Performing high-level analysis of customer business processes and requirements to support project evaluations with proposed solutions; 

  • Defining and architecting the design for custom developed software solutions; 

  • Providing direction to development teams for custom solution realization and participating in coding, testing, documenting, and maintenance support activities;  

  • Conducting project quality management, including peer and quality reviews of specifications, design documents, and coding; and 

  • ABAP development in specification, design, and execution. 

 

Travel: Position does require up to 20% domestic travel to various unanticipated customer sites to perform requirements gathering and testing support.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $160,310 - $272,486. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $195,500 - $332,300. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
