VP, Customer Success Strategy

The individual would lead SAP’s Customer Success (CS) strategy across North America and drive strategy to execution. Key tasks include product/market strategies, implementation of strategic initiatives, and transformational programs. This role will sit as part of the NA CS Strategy & Transformation office and also be part of the Global CS Strategy team, which reports into the Customer Success Board Member (i.e. SAP CRO). As Strategy Lead, you will also advise SAP executives on key strategic decisions for NA and beyond (as relevant and required). You will pioneer innovation in the strategy process, e.g. drive and scale strategic partnerships in a specific market.

 

Core responsibilities:

  • Play the conduit for the region and global strategy team to drive SAP’s big growth push into strategic markets
  • Drive all aspects of problem solving and strategy formulation including: identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing and conducting analyses, and synthesizing conclusions in strategic initiatives
  • Analyze key trends in the region/country and provide actionable recommendations to internal stakeholders based on assessments of market and competitors
  • Analyze local business operational performance to drive transformational programs aligned to global/regional strategy and focus
  • Take prominent roles in execution of global strategic initiatives, projects or major parts of strategy to execution
  • Architect the NA Go-to-Market priorities for mid to long term planning
  • Assess market trends and opportunities to invest in and optimize the deployment of sales and customer support resources to expand SAP’s cloud revenue growth and customer penetration

 

Experience & Language Requirements 

10+ years overall experience

Two possible profiles:

o   Current consultant at Strategy Consulting firms (e.g. McKinsey, Bain, BCG,
Kearney etc.) with experience driving digital transformation engagements

o   Previously at a Strategy Consulting firm and now part of an Enterprise Software or 
technology company (e.g. business development, customer success, value selling, 
etc.)

  • Strategic thinker, high degree of creativity and innovation, being passionate about taking initiatives from ideation to execution
  • Strong ability to develop hypotheses, undertake sophisticated analyses, synthesize findings 
    and formulate strategic recommendations
  • Experience working in NA with a deep knowledge of financial, competitive, regulatory environment, specifically in the Technology sector
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation and interpersonal skills at executive to project team levels
  • Deep understanding of how large corporations operate internally, their cultures, and what it 
    takes to get things done when multiple business units and executives are involved
  • Works well within high performing teams, while also being able to work independently and 
    make thoughtful decisions with limited information

 

Education and Qualification / Skills and Competencies

•    University Degree; MBA from top-tier school (preferred)

•    English: Level 3: Fluent (Able to fluently understand and communicate verbally and in writing)
