PURPOSE and OBJECTIVES

The Intelligent Enterprise Group, headed by the COO and Executive Board member, Christian Klein, drives SAP’s digital core development functions and product management, including SAP’s flagship product SAP S/4 HANA and SAP Digital Supply Chain, and manages SAP’s rich industry-specific portfolio.

This organization is also responsible for making SAP an Intelligent Enterprise by focusing on business process simplification, global IT Services and cloud infrastructure, product and services quality, portfolio and investment strategy, intelligent data and analytics, and value achievement through digital innovation adoption to the best of both customers and employees. 

IT Services provides efficient IT solutions, technology and operational support to our Lines of Businesses (LoBs) with a strong focus on user-centricity. Supporting more than 88,000 employees and thousands of SAP systems, IT Services is delivering business applications be it classical SAP or new SaaS solutions, mobile apps, web and HANA Cloud Platform-based applications, as well as workplace technology services covering hardware, client software and unified communications solutions. Fundamentally, IT Services is enabling SAP to become an Intelligent Enterprise.

IT Go-To-Market Services (IT GTMS) as part of IT Services is responsible for the design, implementation and operations of IT solutions supporting SAP’s core business processes mainly in Marketing and Sales closely interacting with respective LoBs. Here, we act as the Businesses’ trusted advisor and expert, driving together the simplification, harmonization and intelligence of business processes. We enable solutions for the Lead-to-Cash process areas with the focus on the SAP C/4HANA product portfolio by driving in an agile approach the adoption of state-of-the-art solution design embracing innovation and new technologies to achieve higher effectiveness.

As IT Program & Product Manager ‘Go-to-Market Steering and Incentives’ you will be IT responsible for planning, execution and related communication in such initiative and related products. By utilizing your existing program and project management practices, excellence in execution is required to drive such strategic initiative to success. In addition, it is expected that you continuously enhance your practices to optimize the delivery of IT scope towards SAP LoB’s, also by cooperating with the Agile and DevOps Competence Center in IT Services, and surrounding SAP’s IT functions.

Co-leading such strategic SAP Run Simple initiative with a Business Program Manager peer, the IT Program Manager will be responsible to drive the operational day to day IT activities with respective PMO support, including preparation for steering committees, decision proposals and manage the project governance as well as running regular meeting cadences, and thus to achieve the objectives as defined in the program charter. In addition, and as a plus, the IT Program Manager can ideally act as an Integration Manager if respective strategic initiative is being spanned across board areas and corporate functions.

The initiative ‘Go-to-Market Steering and Incentives’ is designed as a multi-year engagement and has been kicked off in Q1 2019 with the exploration and scoping phase in progress.

  • Leading and facilitating critical Program Workshops and Steering Committees
  • Acting as Integration Manager amongst various corporate functions
  • Deep understanding of Executive Guidance in terms of business priorities, architecture cornerstones and IT Delivery Considerations in an onsite and offshore mix.

  • Establish a trusted partnership with our business counterparts as “ONE TEAM”
  • Deliver strategic and agile programs considering the respective IT product developments
  • Enable strong collaboration mechanisms across IT and business stakeholder groups
  • Enable a high-performance team, generative culture and open mindset to drive Enterprise Agility
  • Establish continuous improvement procedures to increase efficiency, improve the processes and policies

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration
  • Excellent Program and Product Management skills including communication up to C-level
  • Profound Business Process Knowledge in terms of Business Development, Go-to-Market Strategies and Models, Sales Performance and Incentives Management
  • Profound SAP Product Knowledge in SAP Customer Experience Solutions, C/4HANA Suite e.g. SAP Sales Cloud, and formerly known products as CallidusCloud Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) or Sales
  • Performance Management (SPM)
  • Alternative Product Knowledge driving Sales Performance Management a plus, like Xactly, Optymyze or IBM SPM
  • Willingness to engage in high paced environments and setups
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly structured working style
  • Proactive thinking, independent working style, good sense of responsibility, flexibility and team player
  • Ability to quickly turn business requirements into IT solutions where reasonable

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years SAP experience, ideally in Project and/or Product Management for large scale enterprise initiatives including SAP Template creation and/or SAP Roll-outs (e.g. SAP Activate)
  • Experience in SAP Strategy and Roadmap projects
  • Experience in Solution Architecture and Solution Estimation
  • Experience working in an agile IT development environment, preferably SCRUM connected with end user centricity
  • Experience in working with cross-cultural teams
  • Experience with executive and board member communication
  • Experience in other LoB related processes and organizations are a plus such as Finance and Administration, HR, Purchasing and Logistics
