Within ISBN Marketing & Solutions, marketers and solution managers create a differentiated and meaningful value proposition that connects the needs of the market to SAP’s portfolio of products and services. We are the bridge between our Product Engineering and Customer Success groups, providing thought leadership, clarity on target audiences and related opportunity, strategic and effective market messaging and the orchestration of our overall business growth plan.  We measure our success by our ability to develop relevant, market leading solution strategies and corresponding creative, innovative marketing strategies that, together, gain audience mindshare, establish SAP as a market leader and ultimately, drive business success and portfolio growth that support our revenue ambition.

 

The Head of ISBN Community Strategy owns the development of the ISBN community, inclusive of both industry and general community solution and marketing strategies, to drive engagement of existing and prospective SAP ISBN customers in a way that contributes to understanding of market needs and trends, achievement of pipeline objectives, solution adoption, customer engagement and retention.  This leader will work collaboratively with other leaders within ISBN as well as the broader SAP community. The Head of SAP ISBN Community Strategy is recognized as a thought leader and evangelist driving community engagement, industry solution and marketing strategies, demand generation, customer solution adoption and positive external company perceptions of SAP in the Spend category.

 

The Head of ISBN Community Strategy will be responsible for inspiring a team of innovative solution managers and growth marketers to create industry and community focused solution strategies in collaboration with industry advisory and product engineering leaders and partnering with M&S leaders to build pipeline (marketing sourced and influenced) and drive solution adoption. This leader needs to drive internal engagement to support community building activities and drive alignment around coordinated, strategic investments in target audience segments.  It requires a fundamental shift in thinking from “What is the best way to position this offering for my audience?” to “Who is my right audience?  What do members of this audience care about? What are their needs, and how can we help them fulfill those needs?”  This leader must be comfortable leading a highly matrixed organization and collaborating with a diverse set of leaders including industry advisory, product strategy, commercial and engineering leaders, as well as marketing leaders in the field teams.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive community engagement strategy for ISBN. This includes focus on user groups, think tanks, customer advocacy and minds that matter in the buying process.
  • Support the multi-year market strategy and business growth plans within ISBN, offering industry and community insight and strategic direction to ensure that our overall Winning Plan is robust, relevant, customer and market focused.
  • Own market and aggregation of voice of customer, including customer advisory council and user group sponsorship
  • Own all industry solution area marketing content and ensure consistent messaging across all channels
  • Drive an audience-centric market approach within the organization, ensuring that solution development, market messaging, content and community strategies are centered around customer needs.
  • Create industry focused articulation of the unique business value of ISBN products and solutions through compelling marketing programs that engage audiences across the customer lifecycle.  Teams reporting to you will craft the industry portfolio narrative, internally and externally, as it relates to ISBN, and will collaborate with Market Strategy leaders on the execution of relevant integrated marketing management programs.
  • Partner with the Field Marketing organization to deliver high-impact regional plans and campaigns that support market awareness, community engagement, demand generation, customer adoption, revenue growth and retention.
  • Support strategy/interaction with market stakeholders such as Analyst Relations, Public Relations, internal communications, and other communication channels (i.e., social media) to deliver thought leader messages into the market.
  • Manage the hiring, development, and retention of solution management and marketing talent for by providing leadership, direction, coaching and mentoring to the team.

 

Qualifications

  • Customer-first mindset and experience.
  • 10+ years of SaaS business development, sales or solution marketing experience; experience in Procurement, Contingent Workforce or B2B networks highly desired.
  • Track record of success building SaaS community engagement that directly contributed to business growth and revenue retention.
  • Experience driving marketing and solutions strategy development, executing with a performance management lens and an ability to work through ambiguity.
  • Key Industry experience to understand and capitalize on trends to drive portfolio differentiation and growth.
  • Ability to lead, manage and inspire teams. Proven people manager that can create high performing teams.
  • Strong collaborator who can manage up, across and within the organization, working with teams such as Customer Success, Industry Advisory and Product Engineering.
  • Experienced communicator, capable of influencing C-level executives.  Confidently and eloquently represents the business value of marketing and solutions strategies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

 

Location is flexible with a slight preference for NA and EMEA.
