This is a remote position for candidates based in the Eastern time zone.

 

What you'll do

 

As an expert network engineer you will, in close collaboration the DevOps team, design, implement and operate the network infrastructure for SAP Converged Cloud platform. In this role you will:

  • Participate in the network infrastructure design and operations 
  • Configure & troubleshoot network technologies like BGP, HSRP, VRRP, Routing Domains, VLAN, VxLAN, VRF, etc.
  • Define, collaborate & contribute to network infrastructure automation (IaC) using Ansible, AWX and Python.
  • Implement network telemetry data using Prometheus, Grafana & Kibana
  • work with a global team of network engineers and cloud developers, maintaining & ensuring operational stability
  • Contribute to the network stability by analyzing incidents & providing improvement recommendations
  • If you are a Networking Engineer with vast experience across Cisco, Arista & F5 network technologies and you want to take responsibility in design, deployment and operations of SAP's Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) network platform which runs in 15 regions around the world, you could be the perfect match for this job.

What you bring

 

  • Minimum 7 years of data center network infrastructure experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols, including BGP, VPN, VXLAN/EVPN and application transport.
  • High proficiency with Arista and Cisco network technologies.
  • Knowledge of F5 BIG-IP Load Balancing and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Participate in on-call shifts, 8x5 on weekdays & 24h weekends, including holidays
