Position Summary

As an AI Data Engineer Intern at SAP NS2, you will play a key role in supporting machine learning and AI initiatives that drive customer experience across secure delivery environments. This is a hands-on, project-driven role that blends data engineering, cloud technologies, and AI integration. You will contribute to building scalable data pipelines, supporting AI model deployment, and working with cutting-edge technologies on secure cloud infrastructure.

This role is ideal for students who are technically curious with a strong bias for learning by doing, able to navigate complex data challenges, connect insights across systems, and bring structure to AI-driven innovation projects.

What you'll do

• Support machine learning and AI project teams with all aspects of data management and pipeline development
• Assist in building scalable and reusable data processing pipelines on cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, SAP BTP)
• Identify manual, repetitive tasks and develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency
• Work with AI integration APIs and SAP AI Core to support model deployment and operationalization
• Support data acquisition, validation, and curation activities including metadata management (versioning, cleaning, storing)
• Collaborate with AI engineers and domain experts to organize and improve datasets for AI/ML projects
• Assist in integrating automation and AI capabilities into customer-facing solutions to enhance delivery experience
• Contribute to process documentation, standardization efforts
• Contribute to data auditing efforts and quality assurance for AI training datasets
• Participate in proof-of-concept projects that leverage cloud technologies and networking concepts
• Document data workflows, integration patterns, and technical processes

What you bring

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Strong interest in process improvement, automation, AI/ML technologies, data engineering, and cloud computing
• Foundational programming skills in Python or similar languages
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and basic networking concepts
• Understanding of data structures, databases, and data processing workflows
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
• Proactive mindset, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Experience with APIs, data pipelines, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks or data engineering tools is desirable, but not required – a willingness to adapt and learn is essential
• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) is desirable, but not required

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 15 - 62(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
