PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

As the management consultancy arm of SAP, SAP Business Transformation Services (BTS) supports customers in identifying value creation potential in the planning of strategic IT projects and enabling the digital transformation journey. The aim is to create flexible, cross-company processes and functionality, thereby influencing enterprises' growth and profitability significantly. SAP BTS is seen as a key enabler to grow software and services business of SAP. 

BTS delivers value advisory, architecture, and digital innovation services. The BTS services empower business leaders to optimize the value of their businesses through best-in-class processes, organisation, and solutions. It helps the customer to achieve the desired business outcomes of their business transformations. Our Business Consultants and Architects work to create holistic solutions to align business goals and outcomes with IT delivery to generate value for our customers based on insights into leading practices and benchmarks. 
An Enterprise Architect has a very good overview about new solutions and the roadmap of SAP solutions/infrastructures. They understand SAP's business and application reference architectures as well as available industry specific or generic reference architectures. This helps customers to understand and extract value from technology investments and how to optimise business processes and business models.

The nature of this role requires the candidate to be based locally in Australia with the ability to obtain a security clearance, being highly desirable. As such local applicants with Australian Citizenship is preferred and will be prioritised. 

Key Skills: 
The Principal Enterprise Architect role is a customer-focused role. The position requires a combination of strategic and practical experience.

Leadership 

  • Leads and supports the positioning and presentations with customer executives during the engagement. (Project execution as well as in Sales cycles - consultative selling)
  • Introduce and translate SAP's Architecture Standards into customer's Enterprise Architecture.
  • Contribute to and lead technology or business-related communities or practices.
  • Lead and contribute to knowledge management and innovation activities.
  • Act as a coach and/or mentor for less experienced colleagues

Advisory and Delivery

  • Act as a trusted advisor for strategic customers
  • Develop practical, large-scale enterprise architectures based on SAP solutions and the phased transitions of current to future state architectures. 
  • Provide enterprise architecture guidance using RISE with SAP methodology and Clean Core principles to ensure that every customer benefits from SAP ‘s cloud qualities. 
  • Understanding of Cloud & Clean Core Strategy, familiarity with SAP LeanIX, Signavio, and Cloud ALM, or comparative tool sets.
  • Participate in the development of large-scale transformation road maps, their financial modelling and business cases.
  • Establish improved Governance, Value management concepts, Processes and Tools. 
  • Understand Customer's business and IT challenges on a strategic as well as operational level and create customer-specific SAP architecture and solution roadmaps. 
  • Translate the business requirements to the optimal utilisation of SAP Solutions and develop value-based roadmaps.
  • Present and sell Strategic services proposals to business and IT C-level.
  • Support SAP licence and services sales to create customer -specific, end-to-end services and solutions strategy through the sales cycle

Experience
The following are critical skills and capabilities which must be supported with a proven track record. 

  • Experience in an ICT delivery and / or strategy role with Enterprise Architecture, Project Management, Functional Consulting or Business Analysis as a core responsibility
  • Relevant experience of establishing customer operating models for cloud/ hybrid enterprise architectures.
  • Strong experience in SAP services commercial engagement models 
  • Experience of one (minimum) or more industry sectors; Government & Public Services, Energy & Utilities, Mining & Natural Resources
  • Experience in architecting business transformation projects
  • Experience in developing Enterprise Architectures using SAP technologies in cloud and hybrid environments. These enabling technologies should include one or more of: S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Business Technology Platform.

It is highly desirable to have experience in the following areas:

  • Knowledge in: Business, Data, Application and Technology Architecture with a strong focus on business and Application Architecture
  • Exposure in SAP Application Architecture and landscapes
  • Additional Expertise in at least one (Digital) Business Transformation topic: Business Process Management, Organisational Change Management, Value Management, Project Management, Innovation Management, Strategic Roadmaps, Cloud Transformation, Digital Transformation.
