The SAP California MD office is seeking an experienced customer program manager to build relationships with the SAP Customer Organization and existing clients and partners. The goal is to understand how our services and products help them run their business, solve unique challenges and fit into the SAP California success story.

How You Will Contribute

The candidate will be a key driver in identifying unique customer stories in the California region and amplifying them through various programs, always in liaison with the customer organization, including all-hands meetings, coffee corners, summits, internal and external communications, showcases, blogs, and news bites, as well as talent attraction.

Expectations and Tasks


Maintain a close relationship with the SAP Customer and Partner organization in the California region with a focus on cloud-native product adoption. Foster the relationship with existing and net new accounts. Maintain a database for customer relationships and keep an eye on their journeys. Create a symbiotic relationship with the organization and their customers where they provide speakers, stories, and engagement while we provide world-class experiences and visibility that enhance the customer experience and relationship.

Build Community

Identify strategic customers that represent our brand values and cloud strategy best, incl. but not limited to high growth companies, businesses with a focus on social impact, co-innovation and sustainability. Build relationships and exchange best practices among the stakeholders and foster a proud SAP California customer community.

Amplify and Highlight

Identify customer success stories and tie them to marketing campaigns, programs, events, and professional memberships we are maintaining in the region (non-profits, university engagements). Provide value to the customer organization, connect people and leverage them to amplify MD office programs. Act as an advocate for the customer's interests internally.

A Successful Candidate Would Bring

  • 5-7 years of experience, bachelor’s in business, MBA preferred
  • Experience in managing programs and/or events
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with project management (small to mid-scale projects)
  • Experience in sales, go-to-market or business development in a B2B context
  • Communications or branding experience a plus
  • Ability to think critically and strategically about program design and implementation 
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and build and develop relationships across a large organization.
  • Experience navigating a complex, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders
