The Role:

The Ariba Network Engineering team is looking for a talented, passionate, hands-on seasoned developer with proven architecture, design and implementation skills. In this role, you have the opportunity to accelerate the innovation and delivery of the Ariba Network, the largest Business Network for collaborative commerce. The Network handles tens of terabytes of structured data and much greater volume of unstructured data. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and experienced engineers to build out the next generation microservices based cloud platform and migrate the applications and services onto it. You will work with Java, SAP Hana, Kafka, Spring, Temporal, Redis, Azure, GCP, UI5, CAPS , CDS, Business Process/Rules Engines and other cutting edge cloud technologies leveraging open standards to build out the platform and its applications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a member of the core Ariba Network engineering team and implement Ariba next generation platform.
  • Drive technology adoption and feature designs across product lines.
  • Provide leadership in all areas of the agile development process, development best practices, system architecture, design, implementation, and test automation.
  • Drive the selection/creation of technologies, processes, and tools for building, converting, migrating applications and their data to the new micro-services platform in an automated and phased manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • 12+ years of development experience developing production grade software
  • Significant level of expertise with designing, developing and delivering distributed micro-services based cloud platforms and applications to run at high scales and operationalizing them.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ownership of a large and innovative platform/middleware component that has been successfully deployed
  • Have a good grasp of how to solve for System Quality requirements around high availability, scalability, performance, security, resiliency, multi-tenancy, etc.
  • Experience with SQL databases, persistence, microservices, messaging middleware and other middleware technologies.
  • Exposure with K8s or Azure preferred or should be a keen learner.
  • Excellent coding skill with Java and Spring.
  • Preferred knowledge with UI5, CDS and CAP.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 185,100 - 403,800 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
