Job Title: Product Specialist

 

Location: Palo Alto, CA & various client sites nationwide

 

Purpose and Objective: 

SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Product Specialist at our Palo Alto, CA location and various client sites nationwide responsible for using deep technical understanding of existing and new technologies to work with the SAP Data Management Product Management team, interfacing with technology development and internal and external customers as well as various stakeholders (e.g. partner, sales, consulting).

 

Expectations and Tasks:

Drive Strategy and Vision for the SAP Data Intelligence in close alignment with the Data Management leadership team. Manage lifecycle of core components from strategic planning to end of life. Drive the adoption of SAP Data Intelligence at customers and in SAP applications by providing support for co-innovation, proof of concept or implementation projects. Maximize the product impact, considering competition, time to market, costs, and internal capabilities. Have a holistic E2E perspective of customer scenarios. Be able to translate business requirements to technical requirements and vice versa.  Specify and define product requirements based on key customer scenarios and market feedback. Work with key development stakeholders to integrate feedback and business requirements. Evangelize to stakeholders, partners and customers on product positioning, strategy, technical and business benefits. Be a knowledge expert for the product portfolio and the market domain to ensure successful product roll-out (e.g. Events, Blogs, Webinars, etc.) and manage partner relationships (including the open source community). Well accepted counterpart for product development teams. Learn a set of different, cutting-edge technologies and tools in the areas of Data Integration, Big Data, DevOps, Cloud, and be willing to be hands-on. Work closely together with key development leads, product management experts, marketing, and go-to-market teams to ensure an ongoing feedback loop. 10% travel required to various client sites nationwide.

 

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study and 5 years of experience required. The company will also accept a Master’s degree and 2 years of experience.

 

Work Experience:

Experience must involve 2 years in the following: Creating reports using SAP Business Objects/ SAP Business Explorer; Managing Extract Transform Load (ETL) of SAP BI/BW, SAP APO/IBP; Database/SQL, including Oracle and SAP HANA; SAP ABAP,  BADI (Business Add-In); Managing functional and business process for Material Management, Procurement, Transport Management and Vistex; Oracle to SAP HANA data migration using SAP Landscape Transformation; QA testing/methodology using tools like HP-ALM; Designing, implementing, and executing test plans that include unit, functional, regression, system and integration tests; Project Management (Project life-cycle analysis, design, development, implementation, support and enhancement); and SAP Best Practices Solution. 10% travel required to various client sites nationwide.
