Purpose and Objective:  
SAP America, Inc seeks a Services Architecture Expert at our Palo Alto, CA location to carry out application and process specific expert consulting for several Analytical application area(s), such as the following: SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Business Objects, SAP Cloud Analytics, and SAP HANA & IOT.   

 

Expectations and Tasks: 
Create business blueprint and carries out implementation based on blueprints. Create test cases. Carry out test scheduling and execution, key user training, go live support, and post go live support. Defines and delivers innovation IT strategy for SAP customers. Facilitate collaborative architecture discussions with our customers IT and business executives. Provide support in escalated projects. Performs feasibility studies and solution reviews which include development of 3-5 years strategic roadmaps encompassing the evolution of enterprise business solution portfolios from current to future state. Support pre-sales activities (license and consulting), including scoping project time and expenses, deciding overall architecture of the proposed solution, and staffing requirements. Select or dismiss project team members, including SAP and/or Partner consultants. Take over responsibility, from time to time, as a project team lead. Take responsibility, from time to time, as team lead and supports respective line manager(s) in people development tasks. Carry out detailed planning of process implementation. Establishes trusted, long-term relationships with customers to drive action plans resulting from SAP’s engagement with customers, specifically with Banks and Insurance companies. Define detailed blueprints for development requirements and integration to SAP and non-SAP systems. Perform industry/corporate process implementation across all related applications (SAP/non-SAP, On Premise, and cloud-based). Develop and assure quality of process models. Demonstrate expert knowledge of modeling standards and tools. Serve as part of the project governance and represents key decisions and issues to customer executives. Lead the design and global roll out of standardized practice delivery methodologies and assets. Serve as dotted-line manager to practice solutions architects providing thought leadership to ensure accurate scoping and labor estimates occur across the regions. Serve as a liaison into Product Development to ensure close alignment with software versioning and release management.  Provide regular product roadmap briefings to extended services practice consultants and services leadership. Serve as a customer advocate to Product Development representing customer requested features and enhancements. Collaborate with other GPLs to develop cross-platform integration strategies and best practices. Liaison to field sales (license, services) and presales teams to ensure accuracy in positioning and scoping of services opportunities. Assist with build-out and in some cases delivery of enablement and training content for the represented practice consultants. Establish delivery best practices and leads in the publishing of supporting artifacts for extended practice community. Assist with publishing practice JAM pages, practice blogs and posting artifacts and best practices to knowledge bases. Secondary responsibility for the global practice revenue number and works closely with Hybris services leadership to ensure global practice financial goals are achieved. Dotted-line reporting into regional delivery leaders helping to ensure project success (quality) and positive customer outcomes occur. When necessary, the GPL can assist with customer escalations and issue resolution. GPL will carry a reduced billable utilization target and also GPL will have regional delivery consultants as direct reports. 50% travel required. Telecommuting permitted.

 

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: 
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field of study and 7 years of experience required. The company will also accept a Master's degree and 5 years of experience. Employer will accept three-year degree or combination of degrees and diplomas as meeting the bachelor's degree requirement.

 

Work Experience: 
Experience must involve 5 years in the following: Knowledge of implementation methodologies; Understands product management function and how to engage; Define content enablement across a spectrum of stakeholders; Coordinate Partner enablement; and Understands key business metrics for Professional Services and drives business accordingly. 50% travel required. Telecommuting permitted.
