Purpose and Objective: 

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Services Engagement Expert at our Palo Alto, CA location to work for customers covered by long-term post-sales engagement related to operation and the adoption of digital innovation in SAP centric solutions.


Expectations and Tasks:

Provide advice and drive the delivery of relevant premium engagement services to pro-actively prevent or resolve critical situations even in complex environments. Understand the customer’s business, organization, and how that organizational structure may affect the customer’s success with SAP. Analyze the customer situation, maturity of SAP solution operations, and IT service delivery. Understand the strategic direction of the customer and the industry sector the customer is operating in. Watch SAP innovation, the market and technology development to identify innovation potential for the customer. Define and agree with customer on engagement roadmap, innovation roadmap, focus areas and high-level delivery plan. Drive agreement on goals and key performance indicators for the engagement with the customer. Agree and implement governance model. Expedite SAP’s collaboration platform at the customer. Define initial action and service plan with the customer at the starting point for the engagement. Anticipate and identify risk and top issues and perform escalation management for critical situations. Document and report on engagement status, action and value.


Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field and seven (7) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The company will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.  


Work Experience:


Position requires 3 years of experience in each of the following:


  • Solution Manager Configuration;
  • ABAP Programming;
  • HANA Technology; and
  • Principles of Agile Software development Life Cycle (SDLC).


Position requires prior experience in each of the following:


  • S/4HANA - System Conversion and Migrations experience;
  • S/4HANA Finance functional experience;
  • Business Technology Platform development; and
  • Cloud Computing principles or Hyperscalers.


Travel: Position requires up to 25% domestic travel to various and unanticipated client sites. Telecommuting permitted.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $197,829 - $225,360. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $197,829 - $281,700. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
