As part of the Global Cloud Services organization, the Core DNS and Registry team supports the company’s global core DNS infrastructure and manages Internet resources. The team is responsible for delivering a global DNS service run across multiple datacenters, including the allocation and assignment of Internet resources to internal stakeholders, as a central authority.  Your primary tasks include day to day operations support, contributing to the DNS technical and process design activities, and collaborating closely with the Cloud operations and development group to ensure services are delivered in accordance with SAP business requirements and standards.




  • Day-to-day operations support of Core DNS and registry services for SAP on a global scale, in a 24/7 operations model
  • Participate in the on-call rotation
  • Employ your scripting skills to automate and enhance operations, improve existing or develop new services
  • As a subject matter expert, contribute to the design, deployment and implementation of DNS solutions to support existing and future SAP business requirements
  • Integrate and close collaborate with Cloud operations and development teams, Global Security and other key stakeholders, to ensure the DNS service meets current and future business requirements and adheres to best practices and global security standards.
  • Manage a 24x7 global operations model, including incident, change and problem management handling 
  • Provide consulting and guidelance to SAP teams in regards DNS setup and registry services



Required skills

  • 4+ years in-depth experience supporting 24/7 business critical technical operations in an enterprise and large scale operations environment
  • Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, IPAM concepts, domain name registrations and Internet resources such as IP addresses, ASN’s, BIND
  • Practical experience with DNS, understanding zones, domains, editing zone files, working with BIND
  • Advanced knowledge and systems administrator experience with network architecture & IP networking (TCP/IP, IP addresses, ranges, routing, IPv4/IPv6, server configuration, firewall)
  • Advanced expereince with UNIX command line, UNIX tools and shell scripting
  • Programming knowledge and experience with at least one scripting language, preferably Python
  • Expereince with Cloud and container technologies such as Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub
  • Experience with REST APIs a plus
  • Bachelor / Master’s degree or equivalents in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 
  • Ability to communicate directly with end customers at various levels of technical abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast paced and multi-cultural organization
