Description Overview

The Program Manager enables the IT Business Services team to manage strategic and tactical projects and/or programs on a day-to-day basis. This includes driving the creation of project plans, business cases, design strategies, resource management, budget management, cross-organizational coordination, vendor management, executive communications/reporting, critical issue resolution, and escalations. This position may be assigned to take the lead in various technical projects dealing with IT applications and infrastructure. Individual must possess expert knowledge in project management demonstrated by a proven track record of success in complex projects and/or programs. Strong candidates must also have experience working with a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and managing development requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead cross functional teams consisting of members from multiple technical disciplines (System Administrator, DBA, Network Administrators, Application Administrators, Business Analysts, and Developers)
  • Translate high-level organizational objectives to an executable project.
  • Provide upper management and stakeholders with timely status updates.
  • Ensure continual monitoring and reporting of program progress to ensure that all programs are kept on schedule. 
  • Coordinate with other functional organizations to resolve resource and schedule conflicts and dependencies. 
  • Assess, identify, and report risks and develop mitigation plans. 
  • Run program status meetings, track status of existing issues and identify any new issues and risks. 
  • Liaison with IT solution providers regarding the structure of the project, progress of projects, problem resolution and advice as required. 
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops.
  • Manages and coordinates all project team activities including planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting all project progress.
  • Facilitation of large scale meeting and workshops.

  • Ability to ensure project compliance with program goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience delivering projects using varied project delivery models including agile and waterfall.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills working with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to act independently, taking accountability for their actions and others work, yet communicate closely with management for status and direction setting.
  • Scrum Master certification a plus.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Jira experience a plus.
  • Experience with SDLC.
  • Experience with capacity planning.
  • Demonstrated experience developing requirements and written documentation.
  • Excellent analysis and documentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building and team work skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Goal oriented and action/result focused.
  • Ability to manage time and resources directed to multiple projects / assignments.
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years combined global IT/project management experience
