The Performance Management & Insights team helps optimize the customer experience and maximize Marketing & Communication impact for SAP by providing:
1. clear goals to drive desired behaviors and teamwork; 2. aligned metrics and measurement systems; 3. operational reporting to support business processes and activities; 4. acute visibility to insights and leading indicators to enable early course-corrections; 5. regular forums to share best practices and address issues



The M&C Demand Performance leader will define the strategic key performance indicator framework, help prepare and lead business reviews, provide executive insights and operational reporting on demand health and performance, optimize demand contribution, and provide input into integrated planning. They will provide insight into what’s happening, how we are performing against goals, why things happened, and how can we optimize future results based on these insights. The Demand Performance leader will collaborate with global and regional leaders to develop KPIs and measurement frameworks and work with the Business Management Office and business stakeholders on requirements for business intelligence solutions; including dashboards, reporting, and processes to provide visibility and to improve marketing performance.


More specifically, their responsibilities include:

  • Lead and drive the creation of measurement frameworks for marketing impact and effectiveness across the customer journey
  • Collaborate with leadership, key stakeholders, industry thought leaders and planning team to establish demand performance goals, metrics, definitions and logic
  • Communicate expectations to the business and help facilitate goal cascade
  • Report Marketing & Communications’ impact on demand and optimize results
  • Assess progress toward goals, identify root cause issues and communicate issues to drive recovery
  • Coordinate the execution and monitoring of performance metrics through the adoption of business intelligence tools
  • Benchmark internal and external performance of key metrics and help apply benchmarks to develop goals and insights for cost per lead, lead-to-close velocity, pipeline conversion, marketing contribution to revenue, engagement rates, etc.
  • Provide insights into end-to-end performance and ROI analysis of all M&C activities
  • Provide performance management results and actionable insights to community members and stakeholders through ongoing communication leveraging strong data visualization, storytelling, and clearly articulated learnings
  • Develop performance narratives to make actionable recommendations, leading to optimization of Marketing investments and process
  • Strong analytical skills, able to perform ad-hoc analysis to answer business questions.
  • Prior experience in Marketing or Sales processes and operations
  • Project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Problem solver mindset, self-starter, and curious




  • Minimum 7-10 years of related experience
  • Project leadership (medium-large scale projects)
  • Supporting organizational change
  • Guiding and mentoring peers and/or junior-level colleagues
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • MBA/Master’s degree or equivalent preferred
