We are looking for a talented software engineer with solid Software Development experience and a DevOps mindset to shape the Event Data Platform (EDP). With a strong focus on cloud-native and best-of-breed open-source tooling, we deliver a scalable, robust and data intensive stream processing platform to process a different range of events and logs. Our platform caters for versatile SAP and partner products, empowering their development teams to deliver various solutions ranging from logs management to SLA metrics calculations.
What you’ll do
-
Solve challenging and interesting software development tasks with an emphasis on performance and scalability of distributed systems in the cloud.

Take ownership from the design of the feature through the first lines of code to how it performs in production ("You build it, you run it"), including the possibility of paid-on-call duties.

Manage IaaS cloud infrastructure and associated technologies, especially AWS (S3, IAM, Networking, RDS…).

Research, design and implement new features and architectures for cutting edge cloud technologies.

Work as part of a distributed Agile team with colleagues in Germany, Canada and Israel.
What you bring
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
-
Very good experience in Scala, Java, or any Object-Oriented language.
-
Understanding of good testing practices including unit testing and TDD.
-
Profound Knowledge of Clean Code, SOLID principles, and Object-Oriented design patterns.
-
Experience with git and Continuous Integration/ Delivery.
-
Experience with cloud development and associated technologies, like AWS or other IaaS platforms.

Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
-
Knowledge of container and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
-
Know-how in networking (DNS/TCP/IP) and Linux.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work and contribute to collaborative working culture.

Eagerness to learn new technologies and dig into the technical details of a system.

Very good written and verbal English language skills.

Work experience of at least 2 years of practical experience in coding in a professional environment.
Furthermore, preferred skills are:

Experience in Big Data, Data-intensive applications, Distributed Systems.

Experience with Kafka
