The SAP Innovation Center in Potsdam is a dedicated group within SAP that focuses on creating innovative software prototypes, which pave the way for new and potentially revolutionary IT solutions. We work in small teams that draw on the diverse professional and cultural backgrounds of our members, and cooperate directly with end users and partners on a range of problems involving big data. It is our goal to build business applications that will make complex products and processes seem simple, natural and obvious. That is why the users of our software are at the center of our development processes.

We are looking for a Communication Design Student m/f that supports the team in designing outstanding brand experiences and communication materials for SAP.

Aside from the fact that SAP is a great employer for students, the SAP Innovation Center is a buzzing hub of international and very motivated folks with diverse professional backgrounds. Low hierarchies and direct project responsibilities enable you to design with impact. Flexible working times, special offerings (like fitness courses, a bouldering wall, beach volleyball court, a decent espresso machine) and last but not least our marvelous location next to Jungfernsee make working at SAP Innovation Center fun.

Location for this position is our lakeside campus in Potsdam. There is a shuttle for SAP employees running from Berlin to Potsdam and back every day.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As part of the Design and User Experience team of the SAP Innovation Center Network, you will help to develop a top-notch visual design and brand experience for our various products and services. You will create visual designs that stand out, support the brand identity and communicate a  message through the wise use of typography, colors and shapes. 

You will work in close collaboration with other designers and various business units to design outstanding and beautiful marketing material. From small requests such as Stickers or Flyers to Merchandising Material, Posters and Emails up to creating impressive Slide Decks for our top management and conferences. In some cases you may support our Designers when prototyping software too. In this position you’ll have the opportunity to get your hands dirty on many projects and develop your skills as designer continual.

  • Craft marketing material such as flyer, posters, Brochures, Emails and many more in close collaboration with the communication design team
  • Design PowerPoint presentations to make great communication of our products possible
  • Build information graphics, charts and sketch illustrations
  • Work effectively on multiple projects at the same time and meet overlapping deadlines 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required

  • Currently enrolled student at a university or a university of applied sciences
  • Currently studying or self-taught knowledge in Communication or Visual Design
  • (Profound) Knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop etc), Power Point and/or Keynote
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently
  • Attention to detail, creativity and problem-solving capabilities
  • Hands-on designer and team player with a passion for brand, design and trends
  • Excellent written and strong communication skills towards peers and management
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills in English.

Preferred

  • Preferred fields of study: Communication Design, Graphics Design, Information Design, User Interface Design or similar
  • Knowledge in video editing and Adobe After Effects is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills in German
