PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Global Financial Success (GFS) is a key pillar of SAP’s Global Finance Infrastructure. And the GFS service delivery model allows SAP to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness as well as quality of the finance processes while delivering global end-to-end process standards.
Within GFS is our Global Accounting Services (GA) organization, and members of our Revenue Accounting Team are experienced professionals responsible for complex revenue accounting tasks globally. Revenue Accounting members deliver the best quality revenue reporting services to global stakeholders and customers supported by our organization.
Interaction and collaboration are essential amongst GFS process delivery teams (e.g. O2I, P2P, T&E, etc.) and other business functions (e.g. GCF, Controlling, HR, GPO, etc.).
Our new colleague will report to our Regional Finance Manager responsible for Point-in-Time & Ratable Revenue workstream. There is no physical move necessary to a GFS location, but our new colleague will need to regularly interact in person with fellow revenue colleagues in the GFS location.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a GFS member in revenue accounting, we will support you to gradually deepen your expertise and knowledge. In addition, this role offers many development opportunities to shape your future career path as you will be involved in revenue projects, process improvements, automations, etc., alongside with your core accounting responsibility.
The GA Revenue Accounting team focuses on the following IFRS15 revenue accounting methods / SAP product clusters:
• Ratable / Cloud & Maintenance
• Point in time / Software & Services
• Percentage of completion / Services
We are looking for a Revenue Accounting member responsible for On Premise Software, Maintenance, Cloud & Networks workstream contracts in our EMEA Region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in processing accurate revenue accounting information based on SAP’s Group financial rules.
• Verify and monitor correctness of revenue accounting information and associated deliverables.
• Prepare relevant analyses for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting packages.
• Ensure a high satisfaction level amongst service customers and maintaining excellent business relations with key stakeholders.
• Help foster our excellent relationships within GFS, and with our internal stakeholders CFR, LCA, Controllers, CFOs, and internal as well as external service providers or global functions.
• Support implementation of our SAP corporate changes incorporated into our Revenue reporting processes.
• Support compliance of our SAP entities to our internal and external audit requirements including SOX
• Support the relationship with auditors to ensure adequate certification.
• Support projects covering the processes and entities under responsibility.
• Contribute to process improvement ideas and/or initiatives.
• Ensure process alignment and standardization across countries and regions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge / experience of IFRS accounting, particularly IFRS15, USGAAP, or similar accounting rules & principles is a distinct advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative team member in both virtual and physical teams.
• Eager to work in an international environment showing an appreciation of Diversity & Inclusion, how it’s applied to colleagues with diverse talents, skills, and attributes to enable SAP to become more successful.
• Adaptable in problem identification and solution formulation.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, especially SAP FI/CO accounting & reporting modules.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially MS Excel.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Academic or professional qualifications in accounting, business, economics, or mathematics with a desire to learn and grow in an international accounting environment is highly desirable.
• At least 1 year experience in audit, finance & accounting, especially around Revenue, is a distinct advantage.
