SAP, one of the most profitable and fastest growing Software as a Service providers in the world, is looking for an SRE Engineer to support its EU based presence.

As part of a SAP ISBN CloudOps team team, you will be focused on the technologies behind the SAP Concur product.

This is a fast-growing global team with the ability to make a significant difference to SAP Concur service offerings by making improvements to its observability, reliability, availability and performance. 

The right person will be highly technical, analytical, and have experience working with a wide range of platforms, with a deep understanding of web architecture.

At SAP ISBN CloudOps you will work with many technologies, such as Linux, Windows, Apache Tomcat, IIS, MS SQL, AWS, F5, Akamai, Docker, and Kubernetes.

 

What you bring

 

  • 3+ years of application support or similar
  • Experience with Linux system administration (Red Hat or CentOS preferred), and Apache Tomcat or Experience with Windows 2012 / 2016 Server administration and IIS administration
  • Network troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of containerization - experience with K8 preferred
  • Familiarity with application performance management tools – AppDynamics, New Relic, Dynatrace, or similar
  • Familiarity with Elastic Stack
  • Coding / scripting experience (coding in any language, ability to script in Python / Power Shell preferred)
  • Ability to read and write SQL queries – T-SQL knowledge a plus

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Be part of a global distributed team, with focus on both project and reactive work types (cca 70/30 ratio)
  • Design and develop automated solutions for anomaly detection and incident auto remediation
  • Monitor and measure systems for performance, load & capacity planning
  • Be on call and participate in incident management and resolution, contribute to incident root cause analysis
  • Partner with R&D teams to ensure the delivery of production ready services
  • Interact with a variety of Concur and client resources to identify issues and drive solutions
