PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
 

You are working in the Corporate Financial Reporting department of SAP. This department is directly assigned to the CFO of SAP and is responsible for the completeness and correctness of SAP’s accounting and external financial reporting under German and International law.
 

Corporate Financial Reporting is structured in different teams:

• Corporate Revenue Recognition
• External Reporting and Accounting Technology (ERAT)
• IFRS Police and Center of Expertise
• Local Accounting and Reporting
   

TEAM DESCRIPTION

The position is assigned to the Infrastructure Team in CARPI team which is – amongst others - the owner of the accounting guideline and group chart of accounts. It evaluates, decides and oversees IFRS accounting topics for subsidiaries worldwide that have a global impact. In addition, the team monitors the closing cycle and executes E2E accounting processes within Corporate Centers of Expertise such as CoE M&A Accounting, Financial Instruments, etc.

The team also provides advice on all non-routine IFRS-related accounting questions raised related to the CoEs, including the respective accounting research activities and discussions with external auditors.
 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
 

The role as Finance Specialist is mainly focused on support in various automation/ digitalization related projects as well as handling daily requests, related to GL accounts. It comprises working with different departments (e.g. Controlling, Tax, IT, Local reporting etc.), as well being actively involved in setting up new tools for SAP, while bringing with you comprehensive accounting background.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
 

• University Master-degree, with special topics in finance, preferably accounting and/or auditing
• Very good understanding of IFRS accounting rules
• Interest in keeping up to date technically on aspects of accounting
• Good English skills
• Excellent knowledge of accounting-related functionalities in SAP ERP
• Good organization and communication skills; assertive; ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
   

WORK EXPERIENCE
 

• 3-6 years of working experience in the area of accounting and reporting under IFRS or in the assurance area of an audit firm
