Our team is looking for a DevOps Engineer to build automation around custom internal tools. You will manage and deploy code through SAP Concur shared DevOps services, GitHub and CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins), and also solution integration for PagerDuty, GitHub, and Slack. You will support a reliable, scalable, and efficient internal tools stack by using your diverse technology skills, including DevOps tooling, troubleshooting, debugging, cloud computing, coding, scripting and infrastructure engineering.

The ideal candidate is excited about building for internal customers, automating internal tools, and has a passion for AWS. This position works with a wide customer base, working across the entire Global Technology Organization.  To be successful in this role, you will need to accurately assess our current environments and scale our transition into a modern DevOps world.

About the Role
•    Support and engineer solutions in AWS that run critical tools for 1400 engineers – initially Atlassian Jira and Confluence
•    Collaborate with internal DevOps teams to build secure and reliable integrations with other tools
•    Define the system landscape, identify gaps between current and desired end-states and deliver solutions
•    Provide end user support on tools to better enable 24x7 support of engineering teams (don’t worry if you don’t know the tools – we will teach you)



•    You have exhibited a track record of trying and learning new things
•    You are a generalist with passion for solving problems with automation
•    You have a strong sense of ownership, team responsibility, and collaboration
•    You have a great foundation and understanding of coding principles
•    Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent years of experience
•    1-3+ years programming experience with Python and with Cloud Operations/DevOps experience on AWS
•    2+ years deploying infrastructure via Terraform
•    2+ years’ experience with Docker and Ansible and with MySQL or PostgreSQL
•    Strong practical Linux administration skills in a cloud environment
•    Logging and Monitoring Telemetry; ELK stack, Splunk, NewRelic, CloudWatch
•    Experience in software project life cycle activities designing, supporting and deploying systems
•    General understanding of basic layer 3 networking and network security
•    Practical experience using Atlassian Jira is desirable and admin experience a plus
•    Ability to prioritize & manage time efficiently
•    Participate in 24/7 on-call team rotation


Bonus Points if you have
•    Strong knowledge/experience with microservices and orchestration of containers (Docker and Kubernetes).
•    Advanced networking experience.
•    Experience supporting / developing Atlassian services.
•    Past experience working in a highly regulated industry.
