What you'll do:
We are looking for a dynamic and creative people manager with a background in localization/translation, who develops their direct reports and drives the Language Experience (LX) vision for the unit’s current and future portfolio. You will lead a new translation service team, which, alongside our other teams in the global unit, oversees the localization of their internal clients’ portfolio, work on optimizing their processes by driving automation and the integration of AI technology into tools and workflows.

 

As a manager, you will support and sustain a high-performance team. You will create an environment of continuous learning and develop your team members according to business needs, leveraging individual strengths, skills and ambitions. You will drive employee engagement and motivation through role-modeling support and empowerment of team members and building trust.

 

You will set clear goals and direction in line with company, area, and unit strategy based on a thorough understanding of business requirements. You will follow and promote relevant industry trends and streamline all processes related to text creation, processing, localization, and delivery. You will lead related complex, cross-departmental or cross-company projects.

 

What you bring:

  • Several years’ experience in leading or coordinating a team (incl. project team)
  • Sound understanding of localization and IT industry trends and standards
  • Experience in project management, data analysis, and consulting
  • Language-related university degree, preferably with a technical and/or business focus, or similar qualification
  • Several years’ professional experience in localization or a related field

You tackle interpersonal challenges and process changes proactively. You act as a role model by demonstrating accountability and commitment.

The Language Experience unit is part of SAP Globalization engineering and provides translation and translation-related tools and services for SAP solutions and non-coded assets for more than 80 languages. We manage end-to-end localization projects across SAP.
