SUMMARY 
SAP Ariba/Procurement User Assistance (UA) team members partner closely with engineering team members, product managers, and program managers to develop end-user product documentation for SAP Ariba solutions. The team’s deliverables include user guides, administrator guides, what’s new content, UI strings, and in-app help. These deliverables enable customers to understand and use their solutions’ business workflows. Together with our partners in UX, our goal is to provide a delightful user experience.
 
THE ROLE
As a User Assistance Developer (Technical Writer), your responsibilities include the following:
•    Fulfil roles as both a dedicated member of the UA team and a co-located member of one or more engineering teams.
•    Work closely with engineering team members to provide design feedback, user interface text, and new feature content in one-month engineering sprints. Represent the UA team in scrum meetings.
•    Develop feature documentation, product documentation, and in-app help on aggressive schedules using the Ixiasoft content management system and in-app help tools. Adhere to processes and standards in a dynamic environment. Hands-on experience testing the software is required.
•    Plan and track your own work assignments and deliver them on schedule and with high quality.
•    Participate in User Assistance team initiatives to improve processes and the  customer experience.
 
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
•    At least three to seven years experience writing customer-facing technical documentation
•    Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven engineering environment
•    Relevant experience developing documents for a variety of audiences, including end users, administrators, system integrators, business managers, partners, and support and service organizations
•    Excellent writing, content organization, and communication skills, and a clear and engaging writing style
•    Experience collaborating with developers and representing documentation requirements in product or scrum team meetings
•    Excellent organization skills, including the ability to manage different projects with varying deadlines while maintaining quality and schedule adherence
•    Experience adhering to, and ideally contributing to, user assistance standards and processes in a dynamic environment 
•    Experience writing documentation from specifications and from hands-on software use
 
Minimum Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a field that requires extensive writing, or equivalent experience
 
Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience using DITA and content management systems, and a basic understanding of HTML, XML, and cXML
•    Knowledge of JIRA or other defect tracking systems
•    Knowledge of Perforce or other source control systems
•    Knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
