Senior DevOps Engineer - Language Technology

What you’ll do:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer in LX Language Technology, you will administer and support SAP-owned and third-party language technology tools and the corresponding infrastructure. You provide content providers, language technology tool users, SAP partners, and customers with language-technology related process designs, consulting, technical solutions and support services. 

 

You provide primary and secondary technological support and consulting for language technology tools, systems, and the overall landscape. Your primary focus will be to ensure continuous connectivity, security, availability, performance and general support of language-related tools and infrastructure. You will participate in incident management processes, coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents, minimize impact and perform troubleshooting.

 

It is expected that you will document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices. You will also develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and monitors to detect potential issues and help improve system reliability.

 

Besides your operational tasks, you will be expected to continuously monitor relevant technology developments to identify the latest trends, tools, and innovations that might influence or impact new and existing functionality. This includes your motivation to drive the change from an on-premise infrastructure to a cloud-based environment.

 

What you bring:

  • University degree in computer science or another related field
  • Solid experience as professional/graduate
  • Advanced knowledge of computer networks, Windows Server administration, IT security and network security principles
  • Proven skills in scripting languages (such as PowerShell, Python) 
  • Knowledge about cloud computing, operations and security for AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Terraform experience is beneficial
  • Effective communication and project management skills and ability to communicate effectively across the organization (translators, developers, users, etc.)
  • Interest in language technology tools and processes
  • Collaborative mindset and excellent self-organization
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. German and / or other languages are beneficial

The Language Technology (LT) Team supports and operates various language technology components essential for the SAP translation infrastructure. The focus is on providing a first-class user experience for over 3000 users regarding translation tool support and connectivity in a secure working environment. 
We are an innovative interdisciplinary team of highly motivated technology specialists and system engineers that work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. We are looking for a new colleague to further boost the technological competencies in our team.
