Overview
 

As the Software Development Manager for the Client Platform Services team, you will lead development of key areas of SAP Concur’s Travel and Expense products, providing critical functionalities for internal and end user customers while helping drive business value for SAP. These include our carbon emissions service, a data orchestration layer providing GraphQL as a platform for web and mobile clients, and a number of mobile backend services used by the Concur mobile apps. The team ensures that services are secure, compliant and highly performant. Your work will enable innovative and engaging experiences that delight millions of SAP customers around the globe.

 

 

Meet your team

 

  • We develop services (primarily with Node.js and Python) and deploy containers using Kubernetes. AWS is our hyperscaler of choice
  • We embrace end-to-end service ownership, from concept to production
  • We are obsessed with performance, metrics, resiliency, testing in production, failure proofing & scalability
  • We are passionate about operating cloud services, designing distributed systems, architecting and coding using best practices
  • We enjoy working and being a part of a collaborative, fun, and technical team 

 

What you’ll do
 

  • Lead development, own and manage a set of platform services that power SAP Concur product usage across the globe.
  • Deliver high quality features, seek continuous improvement, and enable rapid execution of the roadmap.
  • Monitor KPIs and maintain SLAs related to UI performance. Use retrospectives, root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve service quality.
  • Attract, hire, and retain a group of high performing software developers organized into Agile scrum team(s).
  • Mentor and support to foster individual professional growth and development.
  • Build strong and productive relationships with R&D teams (who are also customers of our products and services), product management, architects, dependent technology teams, and supporting partners.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability within the team.

 

 

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or relevant experience
  • Proficient in software engineering with a focus on back-end or full-stack development
  • Experience in management / leadership experience in agile software development
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent communication in English
