Hipmunk takes the agony out of travel for frequent travelers. We make it super easy to find the best flight, hotel, car, or package for an upcoming trip. We’re looking an experienced channel marketer who can manage Hipmunk’s interactions with customers via email, social and paid channels. To be successful, you should be a great communicator (both internally and externally), organized, and have a focus on customer engagement.

As Hipmunk’s Channel Marketing Manager, you will coordinate marketing activities to engage and retain Hipmunk users. Hipmunk is a part of Concur, a leading provider of integrated travel and expense management solutions. The role will work closely with both Hipmunk’s internal team (product, commerce, customer service, design), as well as Tripit’s (a fellow Concur company) email marketing team. The right person will work under the guidance of the Engagement Marketing Manager to execute a strategy of delivering relevant content.

Hipmunk has a fun, collaborative, and fast-paced work environment. Your co-workers are engaged and forward thinking. We love to deliver a delightful experience to our users. We’re looking for a professional with experience in direct marketing and B2C communication -- but if you make up for lack of experience with passion and a willingness to learn quickly, you should still apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Hipmunk’s email marketing activity, for triggered programs, non-triggered campaigns, and new marketing initiatives that support the business needs
  • Coordinate sponsored email campaigns, working with Commerce and Design to schedule and manage content creation
  • Track and provide analysis of performance of email marketing campaign using Exact Target and Hipmunk’s analytics tools
  • Manage Hipmunk’s social media messaging, both incoming and for outgoing campaigns, keeping messaging on brand
  • Support Paid Marketing Manager to create content for Facebook, Google, and other paid marketing opportunities
  • Serve as primary point of contact for vendors that provide email, social, and paid marketing services
  • Work with Brand Marketing team to craft content and messaging that keeps Hipmunk’s brand relevant for frequent travelers
  • Support Tripit’s Engagement Marketing Manager in analyzing both Hipmunk’s and Tripit’s customer lifecycles to find opportunities to better engage with users
  • Demonstrate willingness to take on challenges and learn

Job Requirements:

  • BA or BS required; Marketing, Business, Communications, or Technology related studies
  • At least 3 years of experience managing email and social media channels for a B2C company
  • Experience with ExactTarget, Silverpop, or other similar ESP
  • Desire to succeed in a fast-paced environment with a lean team and willingness to pitch in on special projects as necessary
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail while being highly organized and efficient with time management
  • Ability to analyze metrics and improve efficiency of campaigns
  • Sense of humor and a passion for traveling

  • Familiarity with analytics (Google Analytics or similar a plus)
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS a plus
  • SQL knowledge would be great
  • Be able to work with teams cross-functionally and manage outside vendors
  • Some design skills would be awesome but not required

Additional perks include:

  • Window-filled office in San Francisco's design district
  • Work-life balance (e.g. remote working, happy hours, and ping pong tournaments)
  • Most rad co-workers you’ll ever have
