POSITION

The Software Mobile Design Engineer will work on TripIt’s iOS native mobile apps team to help build elegant, efficient user interfaces for our mobile apps.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write native mobile code for iOS platforms including wearables, widgets, and extensions
  • Write and own automated testing of developed code
  • Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, product management, UX designers, and back-end engineers
  • Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
  • Dive into and evaluate new and unfamiliar technology
  • Pro-actively look for ways to make TripIt better

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-5 years of prior software development experience
  • Strong understanding of web and web-related technologies
  • Strong experience with object-oriented programming, e.g., Swift, Objective-C, C#, Java, Kotlin, Python, or Ruby
  • Familiarity with XML, XML Schema, JSON, or other web data formats
  • Experience with Xcode or Android Studio
  • Familiarity with xcodebuild or Gradle a plus
  • Solid development habits and practices
  • Experience developing technical design documentation and participating in a technical design and code peer review process
  • Natural problem-solver and troubleshooter
  • Comfortable working in a GNU Linux/Unix environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to pass a background check
