HANA Tooling team is responsible for developing tools to detect and address performance issues and employing Artificial Intelligence techniques to improve database administrative work. We are seeking a Software Engineer, focusing on application development to support database administration and monitoring.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

• Responsible for development focusing on database tools and cloud services
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, deployment, and testing)
• Develop HANA database admin applications in SAP HANA Cloud Central
• Be responsible for timely and high-quality product delivery
• Co-work with colleagues in North America, China, and Europe

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field
• Good knowledge in data structures, algorithms, database management
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, Node.js, Java, XML and HTML5/CSS3
• Strong understanding of OData and RESTful services.
• Experience in SQL, Python, Git
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Willingness to learn and flexibility to switch to new subject matters quickly
• Excellent team player, self-motivated with strong communication skills
• High proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred Qualifications (Plus factors):

• Experience in Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience in DB administration or DB application development
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Understanding of UX/UI design principles and experience with design tools like Figma.
• Knowledge on database administration including logging, recovery, and replication
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience in GenAI/AI techniques and model training
