Position title: SAP China iXp Intern - Open Source Software Governance Tools Developer
Location: Shanghai, China
Expected start date to end date: January 2026 - June 2026
This is a hands-on position with exciting global exposure to an array of topics like requirement collection and analysis, designing, implementing and testing solutions, etc. He or she may also provide technical support to the solutions. The candidate will also evaluate new tools to extend or enhance the existing systems. We expect you to be diligent yet curious to learn. You should be able to take initiative, and have experience working well in a global team environment.
- Maintain and improve the existing automation solution
- Design, implement, and test new features
- Design and implement testing framework
- Provide support of tools to both internal and external users
- Assist in other duties consistent with the team’s initiatives
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s degree program
- Can work 3+ days a week for at least 6 months
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and software lifecycle
- Strong programing in at least 2 of Java, Python, Shell scripting and JavaScript
- Working knowledge in web application design, implementation and testing
- Familiar with web technologies and frameworks, web services technologies, Database design and implementation, test methodologies and test automation
- Understanding of Grails, Spring, AngularJS is a plus
- Experience with using and developing AI tools is a plus
- Highly self-directing, self-disciplined and self-motivated individual with positive work attitude
- Fluent in English, with good verbal and written communication skills suitable for a global work environment
- Adept at critical thinking and logic reasoning for problem solving

About The Team
SAP is the global market leader for business software and thus contributes a considerable part of the world's economic power grid. The Global Technology Legal Compliance (GTLC) team in Intelligent Enterprise Group (IEG) is responsible for SAP’s 3rd party intellectual property intake such as Open Source Software. The team audits SAP’s product source code for the occurrence of any 3rd party components (commercial and Open Source) and provides guidance to product development teams whether the identified components can be used in SAP’s products. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team to assist with the tools (used for legal compliance such as Black Duck Protex and Code Center) support and feature development/testing.
