What you`ll do

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to help design, build, and operate highly reliable, available, and high-performance services that are part of SAP’s CI/CD platform. This platform enables SAP development teams to deliver customer value continuously, faster, and more reliably than ever before. Our mission is to enhance the experience of Development and DevOps teams by reducing cognitive load, streamlining workflows, and freeing up time and resources so they can focus on delivering exceptional value to SAP’s customers.

As a DevOps Engineer you will:

• Contribute to all stages of the service lifecycle - from research, prototyping, design, and architecture to implementation, testing, documentation, deployment, and ongoing support and operations.
• Develop deep technical and product expertise, actively sharing knowledge with teammates and key stakeholders to drive collective success.
• Collaborate closely within an agile team environment, fostering a culture of knowledge exchange and continuous improvement to ensure product excellence.
• Apply industry best practices and uphold high engineering standards, advocating for their adoption within the team and across the organization.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve alerts, outages, and incidents to maintain system reliability and performance.
• Leverage modern cloud technologies and architectures to build scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

What you bring

• Degree or comparable qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Understanding of networking concepts (NAT, DNS, VPN, etc.).
• Linux system administration.
• Scripting (e.g., Bash) and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
• GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in Golang, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices and tools.
• Understanding Agile methodologies.
• Ability to quickly analyse and solve problems in a global team environment.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Excellent team player, passionate about your work, self-motivated and driven, open for feedback and improvements.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Experience with the following is a plus:

• Repository management systems.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, or message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• SQL and NoSQL databases.
