What you’ll build

We are looking for a talented DevOps Manager to lead our central Development & Operations team for SAP Cloud ALM (CALM). This role is based in Sofia, Bulgaria and supports our mission to deliver reliable, high-performing SaaS services to SAP customers worldwide.

As a DevOps Manager, you will oversee local DevOps engineers and orchestrate day-to-day operations, incident management, change management, resource usage, and service level management for the SAP Cloud ALM platform. You will collaborate cross-functionally to automate DevOps and SRE tasks, develop proactive solutions, and incorporate AI frameworks to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

You will be a key player in building a culture of operational excellence and continuous learning, enabling teams to deliver superior lifecycle management solutions for SAP customers. What you bring:

• Lead, mentor, and support the local DevOps engineering team.
• Lead and manage the local DevOps engineering team. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development.
• Oversee daily operations, including incident management, change management, resource monitoring, and SLA adherence.
• Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders to develop and implement best practices for DevOps, SRE, and cloud automation.
• Champion the use of AI frameworks and intelligent automation for continuous improvement.
• Define and document operational processes, standards, and tooling. Promote community management for best practices.
• Ensure highly reliable, scalable, and secure operation of our cloud-native solutions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Cloud Foundry.
• Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning of SAP Cloud ALM deployments.
• Manage and optimize infrastructure spend and cloud resource usage.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and DevOps methodologies to drive innovation within the team.
• Support compliance with the Deploy with Confidence (DwC) framework.
• Act as a point of escalation for major incidents and critical issues.
• Foster a customer-centric, feedback-driven, and growth-oriented team culture.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in DevOps/SRE roles, preferably with cloud-based SAP SaaS products.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Business Technology Platform Cloud Foundry and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong background in system administration, networking, automation, security, and monitoring.
• Proficiency with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (SAP Cloud Orchestrator).
• Experience with Dynatrace, Grafana, Kibana, Elastic Search, AVS Kiosk, or Splunk.
• Strong skills in Java, Node.js, JavaScript, Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Knowledge of SAP Cloud Application Programming Model, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and test automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM platforms (CALM, XALM, PALM) and the Deploy with Confidence (DwC) model is a strong asset.
• Experience with gen AI frameworks or related AI tools on BTP AI core.
• Prior experience with SAP Cloud Orchestrator, SAP Automation Pilot, Jira, and infrastructure automation is a plus.
• Solid experience in cloud cost management and performance optimization.
• Fluency in Bulgarian and English (German is a plus).
