The development center of SAP in Bulgaria plays a key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. With its more than 1400 professionals, SAP Labs Bulgaria also has strong contributions toward life-cycle management, user interface & user experience across the broader portfolio of SAP products and has recently welcomed new teams focusing on business applications. For its 24-year history, the company has established itself as a preferred employer in the IT sector in Bulgaria.

What you`ll do: 

On our mission to improve developer experience at SAP, we are looking for a development manager. In this role, you will lead a small new co-located Scrum Team in Sofia, Bulgaria, that will join us to develop “Hyperspace Portal”, the new entry point for 50.000 product developers at SAP.

• You lead a high-performing team by attracting, hiring, retaining, and coaching employees. 
• You guide the career development of team members, including technical and interpersonal skills.  
• You are very approachable with open ears for the needs of your employees and eager to share constructive feedback.  
• You are a networker and help to build bridges between individuals, teams, and projects around the world. 
• When needed, you lead cross projects and initiatives.  
• You represent your team in events and workshops. 

You are also encouraged to spent up to 10% of your time on research & innovation (TGIF). 

What you bring: 

• At least 8 years experience in the IT industry 
• Passion for people, empathy and experience in people development or coaching 
• Agile mindset and experience with agile development processes (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) 
• Focus on business value and user needs 
• Willingness to take decisions and tackle difficult questions  
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills  
• Strong coordination skills 
• Results-oriented working style  
• Fluent in English and Bulgarian 

Optional requirements: 

• Experience with CI/CD  
• Experience with SAP's development processes 
• Experience in related roles, e.g. SW developer, product owner, scrum master.
