Software-Development Operations

Junior DevOps Engineer for SAP Cloud ALM

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you’ll build:

As a Junior DevOps Engineer in the Central Development & Operations (DevOps) team for SAP Cloud ALM (Application Lifecycle Management), you’ll kick-start your tech career by helping keep a large-scale cloud platform stable, fast, and reliable. Based in the EMEA time zone, you’ll support day-to-day operations such as incident handling, resource usage, and service quality — always with guidance from experienced teammates.

You’ll work closely with others to solve real-world challenges, learn how modern cloud systems run, and contribute to automating DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) processes. This role is designed for learning: you’ll gradually build hands-on experience with best practices, tools, and AI-supported frameworks while supporting DevOps and SRE initiatives together with the Managers on Duty (MoDs) for SAP Cloud ALM.

You’ll help ensure smooth operations across global markets while growing your technical confidence every day. This is a great opportunity if you’re curious, enjoy problem-solving, and want to learn how large cloud platforms work behind the scenes in a supportive, innovation-driven environment.

What you bring:

  • Education & First Experience: A degree in computer science or a related field — or equivalent practical experience such as internships, projects, or hands-on coursework. Any exposure to cloud, DevOps, or SRE concepts (especially for SaaS products) is a plus, but not a must.
  • Technical Curiosity & Growth Mindset: Interest in learning system administration, networking, security, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Some experience with scripting or programming (e.g. Java, Node.js, Python, Bash, or PowerShell) is welcome.
  • Cloud & Platform Basics: Basic understanding or first exposure to cloud platforms like SAP BTP Cloud Foundry, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), or public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • DevOps & Automation Interest: Curiosity about how cloud applications are built and run, familiarity with reliability concepts, and motivation to learn CI/CD, automation, and tools like Jira, GitHub/GitHub Actions, SAP Cloud Orchestrator, Automation Pilot, and test automation.
  • Monitoring & AI Awareness: Introductory exposure or interest in monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. Dynatrace, Grafana, Kibana, Elastic Search, Splunk) and enthusiasm to learn how AI services on SAP BTP can improve cloud operations.
  • Customer-First Mindset: A proactive, service-oriented attitude with the ability to understand customer needs and learn continuously. Any knowledge of SAP Cloud ALM or the Deploy with Confidence (DwC) framework is a bonus, not a requirement.
  • Communication & Language Skills: Strong teamwork and communication skills, with proficiency in Bulgarian and English (German is a plus).

 Where you belong:

You’ll join SAP Cloud ALM, a key platform that helps SAP customers manage the full lifecycle of their applications. Internally, SAP Cloud ALM represents SAP’s Golden Path for cloud development and follows the Deploy with Confidence (DwC) model.

You’ll be part of an international, cloud-native team working in a modern, feature-driven environment, where we deploy to production daily and release new features every two weeks. It’s a place where learning, collaboration, and innovation are part of everyday work — and where your growth truly matter
