We are seeking a Senior Design Program Manager to join our SAP Design System team with a focus on maintaining design project momentum, processes, and fostering a creative environment for cross-functional teams.  Reporting to the Head of Product & Project managers team, the Senior Design Program/Project Manager plays a key role in collaborative strategic problem solving, wholistic systems thinking, and efficiency. The Senior Design Program/Project Manager will have a wide reach across several Design System teams, spearheading end-to-end design roadmap definition, execution, and delivery within SDLC parameters.

  • You are a strong strategic thinker with extensive experience improving processes and shaping solutions in ambiguous environments.

  • You have comprehensive knowledge of product development and design processes – including how to manage design roadmaps, milestones and delivery.
  • You are highly organized with creative ways to bring definition and alignment.
  • You manage multiple priorities and deadlines with context switching between projects without missing a beat.
  • You are a keen relationship builder at all levels of the organization, across many different technical, business, operational, design and other roles to bring the right groups into alignment in order to drive successful outcomes.
  • You are a self-starter with passion and expertise for leveraging available resources to establish standards and processes that support cross-functional teams and continuously seek improvement.
  • Fluent or at least advanced English skills are a must

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Partner closely with design leaders and design teams throughout the design lifecycle with a focus on managing priorities, resolving issues and fostering collaboration.
  • Manage risks proactively, anticipate potential issues, implement appropriate mitigations and remove blockers or escalate accordingly.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge and understanding of project management concepts, methodologies and tools and wielding them to support cross functional teams.
  • Expertise analyzing and aggregating project and program-level metrics into executive-level dashboards and/or status reports.
  • Ability to prioritize and lead prioritization of work with minimum direction in a complex and diverse environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Leverage design knowledge to collaborate with stakeholders to define, plan, and design the appropriate end-to-end experiences and solutions to achieve design & product desired outcomes.
  • Apply and promote HCD and Project management best practices
  • Experience delivering multiple parallel releases across complex landscape, in which several product teams are building product features and managing designs.
  • Optimize the operations of design teams including capacity planning, scrum ceremonies and agile approaches and Jira management.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6+ years’ experience Program/Project Management in Design/Product fields
  • 5+ years’ experience in Agile Project Management frameworks
  • Experience working with Design teams
  • Passion for process, innovation and experience operationalizing scalable solutions
  • PMP, CAPM, CSM, SAFe a plus
  • SDLC a plus
