OBJECTIVES & PURPOSE 

The SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is an open platform-as-a-service, spanning worldwide across multiple data center regions.  We are seeking talented and passionate young students eager to start their career as professional developers and evolve side-by-side with our Cloud Platform.

OUR TEAM

The Sofia Neo organization is responsible for the development of some of the core cloud back-end services and APIs, which our customers use to run and manage their cloud applications. Those are the services for managing the lifecycle (deployment, start, stop etc.) of applications, monitoring (status, resources usage, custom monitors, alerting, etc) running applications, logging, product standards enabling services, authentication and authorization services.

Basically, we are those brave ones who are developing the magic behind SAP BTP development environments (NEO) and some of its critical core services.

Here are some of the major technologies, and practices our teams master:

• Java, Java EE, Go Lang, etc.
• REST and Microservices
• Continuous delivery & quality with: jUnit, Arquillian, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Concourse etc.
• We evaluate and adopt new open source technologies into the platform.
• We write clean code and follow S.O.L.I.D. design principles, twelve-factor app, reactive and many other cloud development paradigms
• …and finally, the best development experts at SAP are working in the Core teams 😉

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As an intern in our team:

• Your journey at SAP will start in our software development training academy, where you will be coached by the top development mentors in the Sofia office.
• You will learn to develop robust, scalable, testable, and usable software.
• When you are ready, you will join one of the Core SCRUM dev teams and work on real challenging cloud development requirements.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Student in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Informatics or equivalent.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles
• Data structures & algorithms
• Academic or hobby project experience with OOP language such as: Java, Go, C/C++, C#, or Node.js
• Willingness and ability to quickly learn and explore new concepts and technologies
• Working level of English

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria (office attendance 3 times a week is mandatory)

Schedule: 30 or 40 hours/week

Start date: asap
