SAP iXP Intern - Full-Stack Java Developer

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria (office attendance 3 times a week is mandatory)

Start date: asap (6 months paid contract)

Schedule: 20/30/40 hours a week

Student status is mandatory

 

What you’ll do:

As a Full-Stack Cloud-Native Java Developer, you will have the chance to learn, grow, and contribute to real product development in a collaborative and supportive environment. You will work with experienced engineers and gain hands-on exposure to modern cloud technologies and Agile delivery practices. Your responsibilities may include:

· Supporting the development of specific product features as part of a cross-functional development team, contributing to design, coding, testing, automation, and quality assurance.

· Learning and applying Agile methodologies such as behavior-driven development (BDD) and domain-driven development (DDD) under the guidance of senior team members.

· Gaining experience with full-stack cloud-native development using technologies such as SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Cloud Foundry, and AWS.

· Working with DevOps tools and practices as part of an end-to-end development process.

· Applying Test-Driven Development (TDD) concepts and assisting in writing unit, integration, and automated tests.

· Collaborating with Product Managers, Architects, Developers, Scrum Masters, and User Expierence developers to support successful product delivery.

· Participating in team ceremonies, knowledge-sharing sessions, and community learning activities across the SAP Next Gen program.

 

What you bring:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 

· Very good English skills, written and spoken.

· Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially in multicultural and distributed teams.

· A proactive, self-driven attitude with a willingness to learn and take responsibility.

· An educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

· A programming foundation in Java, ideally with exposure to Spring or Spring Cloud.

· Awareness of common OOP design patterns, SOLID principles, and basic understanding of relational or NoSQL databases.

· Basic understanding of cloud-native concepts such as micro-services architecture and event-driven design.

· Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript, along with experience using any modern frontend framework such as Angular, React, or SAPUI5.

· Curiosity or hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially tools like Jenkins.

As part of the SAP SuccessFactors Payroll team, you will collaborate with domain experts and engineering teams to apply AI‑enabled tools and development practices within SAP’s globalization framework - helping streamline processes and accelerate innovation across our product landscape. You will work in a cross‑location Scrum team composed of highly motivated colleagues at all career stages, including Product Managers, Architects, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Developers, User Assistance Developers, and DevOps Engineers.

Together, the team is building a next‑generation, cloud‑native payroll solution designed to deliver robust, compliant, and scalable functionality for customers around the world.
