SAP iXP Intern - Software Developer in Gardener with Golang

Gardener team is adopting the Kubernetes open-source system for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized SAP solutions and business applications. Evolving and enhancing SAP’s open-source project Gardener as SAP’s way to provide a homogeneous and universal Kubernetes-based container management is the key deliverable of this team, in close collaboration with the other teams in other SAP locations. Project Gardener is providing solutions to run and orchestrate Kubernetes clusters on public cloud, hybrid and SAP owned infrastructures for a variety of enterprise use cases inside and outside of SAP.

 

As an intern in our team, you will:

  • participate in the design, development, testing and delivery of features
  • do research and prototyping in the domain of cloud computing
  • both use and contribute code to open-source projects

 

The major technologies and skills you will learn and master in our team are among:

 

  • Golang
  • Kubernetes – a cutting-edge open-source container-orchestration system for automating deployment, scaling and management of containerized applications
  • Cloud-native technologies
  • Networks and network programming
  • Linux, Garden Linux
  • Development tools like Github and Concourse
  • The world’s best agile programming and project management practices
  • Collaborating and navigating in an international environment

 

If you are willing to challenge yourself, learn quickly and code passionately – you are the colleague we are looking for! And that’s basically our only hard requirement, all the rest you will achieve at your own pace with the support of your personal mentor and our team.

 
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Student in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Informatics or equivalent
  • Knowledge of any programming language: preferably Go but C++, C#, Java and Python are also great
  • Basic knowledge of OOP, data structures and algorithms
  • Working level of English

Any of these is a definite advantage:

  • Web development: HTML5/CSS/JavaScript
  • Linux
  • Databases
  • Network programming

WORK EXPERIENCE

Prior work experience is not required. Students are welcome.
